I just completed my 4th patrol in Run Silent Run Deep Campaign with an S-18 and i think i did quite good, sinking 27,000 tonnes of merchant shipping. Its now end of May, i'm still with the S-32 and i must admit (although i like it) i can't wait to get a new sub. I tried transferring but they leave me with the same boat. When should i expect to get my new fleet submarine?

I honestly haven't played in awhile and don't have the files on this PC to look, but I bet you get one next patrol. Tonnage does have effect, so sink some more. You should get a better Sargo class or you'll have to transfer to get a Gato.
Lil advice, head to the Solomons mid to late 42
All these battles are in RSRD.
Battle of Santa Cruz is a big one, you can usually find them a lil east of Ontong, lil NW of Tulagi. You'll get a vague message.
#1 = Battle of Eastern Solomons (http://combinedfleet.com/battles/Solomon_Islands_Campaign#Eastern_Solomons), August 23-25, 1942

If you hang around Savo you can catch the large surface battle Aug 9. The month of November is a must, just have around Savo Nov. 13/14. You run into many TF and convoys.

No new boat after my 5th (IIRC) patrol, Aug. 19th. I only sunk 1 ship on this last patrol though.
What really bugs me is i no longer have my deck gun; That famous RSRDC bug.

Ripper, it can get worse. After four patrols and a respectable 35KT, they offered me "new construction" and I took it. THEN I found out I now had a P-class, hardly an improvement on the old S that I used to "earn" the "new" boat.

I would complain about it to ComSubPac. I'm sure they'll give that old P-Boat to someone else and give you a...nice desk job. :O:

^ Considering its WWII, i would take it. Problem is, a desk job simulator must be boring as hell :haha:

I just went and had a heart-to-heart talk with Uncle Charlie. Convinced him to give me a Gato. Walked out with Drum. In March, 1943 not the newest boat, but as they say, you can't beat the Drum!
It helps to know how to end run the bureaucracy, even in a sim!

Who don't talk to the wusses who sit behind the desks. :O:
The desk job "Simulator" is Silent Hunter 4 with TMO and RSRDC in an S boat.

Really? If so, try loading RFB and RSRDC, grab a Sugar boat in Manila on 7 Dec 41, and enjoy. Not a desk job!

Good thing i don't run TMO, then.
EDIT: I finally got my new boat Oct. 3rd 1942. Problem now is the game transfered my men from the S-32 and obviously there isn't nearly enough of them to make this sub war worthy and there isn't enough men i can recruit to fill her up. So i guess now my only solution is start a new campaign starting from that date.

Don't start a new career. Go on patrol with a short crew. It can be done.

Why you have to pay for officers, the general crew is free of charge. Have you tried dragging them over? I've never had this issue with mods or stock.

Its not that i have to pay for them. They're simply not enough in the list of available men to fill my boat (the left-hand side list when in port.)

It may be stock, if that's what you're using with RSRD.....
I would go with a short crew, the list will restock with men when you return. Spread them around as you need need, truth is you'll hardly notice any difference.
