Guys,
Being a HARPOON fan I thought I would share this info. For those of you HARPOON fans check this site out. They have videos that show some of the game mechanics. This Naval SIm has been under development and almost due for commercial release.
Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations is a comprehensive wargame of air & naval (and limited ground) military operations from post-WW2 to the near future, covering scenarios of both total-war and low-intensity/other-than-war situations. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic-scale operations are also possible.

You're welcome. I m looking forward to the day of release. I know you guys have been working very hard on the development of this project. I certainly wish you all great success with it. I'm praying for a Christmas release lol :D.
On another note, I have been a Harpoon player since version 1. Currently have H3 version 3.6.2 on my machine. I know there's a version 3.6.3, just don't know where to get the upgrade.
I just want to say to all of those passionate Harpoon players and specially to all scenario developers out there, thanks for all those scenarios:yeah:. I love to play them but don't have any idea how to create them. I do appreciate the the time and effort that goes into them.
So to all Harpooners out there and you know who you are Keep On Keepin' on.
I have never played Harpoon. I have played Fleet Command and Global Conflict(a beta version)
I have read about this Command and from what I have read it's going to be some awesome simulation(I hope)

There are a complete series of videos on how to use the commands found within the Scenario Editor. Just add your own dash of creativity.

Thanks for the info, BTW I have been watching you videos. I enjoy watching them as much as playing. One thing can be said about your videos they are very instructional. Much can be learned from watching them :yeah:.
As far as H3 V3.6.3 goes, I think I have the update somewhere in my hard drive. If I recall correctly, I think there was a problem (I could be wrong) with the data base that was available at the time for use with V3.6.3. The game became unstable and that prompted me no to update and stick with the stable 3.6.2 version. I'm not sure if that's the case anymore that was way back when. I don't recall what the features of the version 3.6.3 update are.
I don't play Harpoon on line as I play a lot BF3 with friends. I play H3 against the AI always. So I like looking for and downloading scenarios. I'm very thankful to all those scenario creators.
Anyway thanks for the videos, I enjoy watching them, cool stuff

I am gladdened to hear that you find our videos helpful and enjoyable. They have served their purpose.
With regards to Harpoon3, I personally use v3.6.2 whenever possible. IIRC, the major difference between v3.6.2 and v3.6.3 was primarily to a 'drift bug' whereby air groups that would normally stop in v3.6.2 would continue to move in 3.6.3 version. 99% of H3 v3.6.3 scenarios can be played with v3.6.2, nonetheless.
Your comments and feedback are always welcome regardless of which version you prefer.

First, a typical convoy air-attack situation. A squadron of “OPFOR” F-4E-2020 strikers attacking a small Greek convoy bound for Cyprus, off the coast of Rhodes. The Phantoms are armed with two AGM-65G missiles each; the convoy is composed of two Jason-class LSTs, escorted by the frigates Hydra and Adrias.
Some time-points to note:
Start – The attacking Phantoms are flying at medium altitude and are detected early, which allows time for a suitable response. The “EL/M-2032” text over each contact is the active emissions detected from it – in this case, the radars of the aircraft as they search for the convoy.
0:32 – We are changing the doctrine option “Engage non-hostiles” doctrinal option for the surface group. This will enable the escorts to start engaging the incoming contacts as soon as they are within their weapon envelope, well before they are positively identified as hostile. Repeated runs of this test scenario have shown this option’s state to be one of the most crucial factors of the outcome.
2:50 – Hydra starts engaging the foremost Phantoms with her ESSM missiles. The dotted red lines are the illumination beams for the SARH seekers of the missiles. Hydra has two STIR illuminators so she is “painting” two aircraft concurrently, guiding two missiles at each.
3:45 – The Phantoms detect the incoming missiles and begin evasive maneuvers. Some escape; others don’t. The complex interactions of weapons, targets, seekers, countermeasures and expendable decoys parade through the message log.
4:08 – We select the Hydra and bring up the weapons window to observe the decrease in her SAM inventory as it is being depleted.
5:53 – The surviving strikers manage to get close enough to begin launching their AGM-65G missiles at the surface group. Things become tricky now; the Mav-Gs are a smaller, faster target than the Phantoms and the window of interception is shrinking rapidly.
6:00 – The incoming missiles are close enough that Adrias, disadvantaged by its position on the other flank, can start shooting her Sea Sparrows at them. Some of the vampires, however, are getting through.
6:47 – As the “leakers” are approaching, all ships begin engaging them with their guns. Despite the “wall” of defensive fire, a single Maverick-G slams into the side of Hydra. Though not taken out of action, she sustains significant damage and some of her systems (including her primary long-range air-search radar) are knocked out.
7:00 – We bring up the damage-control window to inspect the damage on the Hydra in greater detail.
The surviving Phantoms turn for home, while the convoy presses on. The first attack was repulsed, but at a price – and follow-up air/missile attacks will now be much more difficult to counter.

Looks like an awesome simulation indeed, can't wait for the release. One thing I would like to see however is a night time palette/ ability to change UI coloring particularly in terms of dialog boxes etc. Nothing worse than playing in the dark with bright white panels burning holes in your retinas.

The UI elements (dialog boxes, forms, windows etc.) are the standard Windows desktop elements, so they can be configured as to their appearance via the standard Windows desktop settings (which change slightly from one version to another). So for example they can be light, dark, classic grey (Win2000), WinXP-style, Aero or the new Metro-style theme, depending on which version of Windows you run Command on.
And I was a passionate fan of Microprose.

I was hoping that was the case. Nice to see you guys have taken so much time getting things right, unlike your so called "professional" counterparts.
On Microprose... Let's hope Ed Fletcher manages to get his Task Force 1942 + 1942 Pacific Air War reboot up and running soon and that WEPS manages to complete his new version of Red Storm Rising like "Command" they are obviously "labor of love" projects for all concerned. We Microprose fans aren't getting any younger after all!
