You know - I support folks buying from Amazon through Subsim. I do it myself when I can. But sometimes - you run into something that just can't be overlooked.

THQ has partnered with HB to bring you 6 great games starting at $1 for the set. If you pay more than the "average" - which right now is $5.62, you get another game thrown in. You can decide how much goes to charity as well.
I bought my set - even though I own the COH games already. I probably won't even play the others. Who knows. But a partnership like this to help others - all I can say is way to go THQ.
So who is in the spirit of giving and getting all at once?
I hear the General Games Discussion (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=177) is offering some good stuff too.

I would have put it there - and will come to think of it - but many folks care less about the games and more about the cause - which is totally cool.
Hopefully the powers that be won't be upset if I X-post it. Good catch Dowly! You da Ferret!

For those who are considering this - The expansion to Red Dawn, along with Titan's Quest - have been added to the bundle as well.
Nearing 4 Million raised.

Unless I can see EXACTLY how the money is used?
I don't contribute to any cause.
Many causes you donate to only end up with a small % going to those who need it.
The rest is cut off the top to pay the management.
I'd like to see the actual pay out before I deal with them.

Always a wise attitude. Unfortunately, people have learned that well meaning people can be deceived by the reference to "charity" :nope:
If they are a legitimate charity in the US you can always pull their IRS form 990 as they are public documents.
A while ago there was this "charity" for disabled vets. Upon investigation it was shown that the jerk who ran it was taking 99% for administrative costs (salary for him and his wife). $0.01 for every dollar went to a vet charity. :nope:
People suck, always always check out a charity before donating.
I like using http://www.guidestar.org/ but there are other good sites out there too.

Unfortunately the only game i don't have from that is tales of valor, as i payed 50 bucks for the THQ pack in the steam summer sale, unfortunately for me.
Might get it just for that, as i already payed a good amount.

Privateer - using this system you can decide how much (if any) goes to THQ, how much goes to Humble and how much goes to charity. You can divide it up however you wish.
Regarding the charities involved:
Child's Play
http://www.guidestar.org/organizations/20-3584556/child's-play.aspx
and the rather well known - American Red Cross.
I totally respect the choice to give when only the charity is legit. As Platapus noted - both of these charity's have their F990's publicly available.
