Here are some of my wish list items:
1. Good sound file.
2. Aob mod that auto identifies ships
3. A better plotting tool mod that allows you to take notes
4. working Enigma machine mod
5. Food and clothing mod
6. be able to change course with incoming message
7. Able to talk to other subs
8. Able to Modify crew info
9. engine room model
10. manual targeting with periscope feedback
11. renown for following orders
12. Color command icons
13. walk around the sub
14. radio that tunes into land stations

Not sure what you mean by this.

There are no other subs in SH3, unless you do multiplayer.

What do you mean?

Stock SH3 and every supermod except GWX has that. There is a mod to restore it and it's easy to do yourself.

Can't be done. You need SH4 for that.

As mentioned earlier, it's easy to do manually by simply editing this file in your copy of SH3 with GWX installed:

2. - That is not exactly wha tI had in mind. What I am looking for is a mod that automatically tells you what ship you are looking at without having to look through the book for several minutes. I am sure the salior on the U-boats would know what they were looking at.

5. Yes ...... but not one that shows wear and tear on the unifomrs, beards growing, and spoiled food from long missions ( at lesat I think that is what the guy in Das Boots is doing at the table 1/2 way thorugh the movie - look slike he is cutting off molded cheese for thier blocks of cheese)

6. What I would like in a mod is to play the game, make it to my deginated patrol, wait the allotted time and then receive orders to go somewhere else and be able to earn renown for that as well. Also if we receive a message of a convoy or sub attacking that we can head to that location as well with renown
There are no other subs in SH3, unless you do multiplayer.
7. A message might say that u-?? is shadowing ship or that wolfpack approaching convoy. Why can't there be a mod that makes that a reply option? Also...I have played the game a have seen other subs at sea. I know that with some modding it could be interactive somehow.

8. I would like to be able to modify the crew based on Mental, physical and social attributes. Fo example, dept chargers to the boat causes someone to be hurt or loose a limb. Also to be able to monitor food intake (hungry/ thirsty).

10. Sorry about the poor explination. I am not a sailor or ocean nav guy. Let me try asking again. What i would like in a mod is to be able to use the periscope and it tell me AoB and speed and to identify the ship. So that when I push the launch button on the torpedoes I see that info on the targeting map as well. Right now ...looks like all that has to be done on several screen switching back and forth.

11. I have GWX 'Gold and want to keep it. Is a mod for that one?

Not likely.

HUGE Thanks!!!!! At first I could not get your suggestion to work. When I went in the folder to make corrections - FIRST it wanted a text editor. NOt being a tech guy I had no ideal if I had one of those install on my computer or not. So I try word pad, the Office word, then text and none of them would work. SECOND - Each time I tried to make to corrections it would tell me I did not have permission. I check to see if I was run as administrator and I was but still get the error.
So here is what I did. I took the file and copied it to my desktop there I used word pad ( most likely could have used Word as well) made the corrections and pasted it back in the file and it took it. Yeah!!! now hopefully it will work and give me renown for finishing a session.

With WE Assistance on, once he has identified the ship you click on the upper left corner of the notepad where it says "Ship". The book will automagically open to that ship.

Well, SH4 has been out for almost six years, and nobody has yet been able to put the radio into SH3. Possible? I don't know. Likely? Not much, unless you want to learn how to do it. The problem is that SH4 U-Boats is actually better than SH3, but due to it's coming out so soon after nobody ever bothered to mod it as much.

Ah, you want the clothes to deteriorate over time. Okay. Get as many different clothes mods together as you can. Put them into SH3 Commander using its 'Date' function. Then they will change by date. Unfortunately you'll have to do that for each single patrol, as SH3C can use absolute dates, but not relative dates.

Ah, I see. The reason GWX removes renown for just following orders is that real captains didn't win points with the brass by just following orders. They had to be successful "above and beyond the call of duty". Such a thing could be created in a new game, but adapting SH3 to do it would be a whole lot more work than it's worth. Easier to just edit your own renown to have as much as you want. Me? I never use the stuff myself.

Extra u-boats were added in by GWX. Unfortunately they can't dive or fire torpedoes; they can only follow on the surface and attack with their guns. You can spot them on the map by looking at the convoy symbol. If it the round Sub symbol then the 'lead' ship of the convoy is a u-boat, and you will have company when you attack.
As for a new mod, this would violate things that are hard-coded into the game. It can be done, but it is Ubisoft's proprietary property, and changing it could land people in court or even in prison.

People are already hurt by depth charges, just not that specifically. To change that would again mean fiddling with the basic codes, which not only could land folks in trouble but is such a huge amount of work as to make it not worthwhile.
As for food, it's a simple fact that not one single patrol was ever cut short because people were hungry or thirsty. If food did run short there were fish to catch and lone merchants to raid. They carried more food than they did fuel.

Again, WE Assistance does exactly that.

Raptor explained how to do that yourself. It's very easy.

It's not protocol, it's just that everything in a quote box doesn't show up in a new quote. I had to create new 'Quote' frames and copy and paste each of your new questions before I could answer them. Nothing official, just a pain. :sunny:
