The Cutty Sark and old time sailing ships on general modern vessels can be impressive but they don't really look good.

While I have a soft spot for frigates during the age of sail, I have always thougt that the Scharnhorst class (Scharnhorst and Gneisenau) were one of the most beautiful designs ever.

The most beautiful ship to me is my first, HMCS Vancouver. She got us through the worst storm in 30 years on the pacific (at the time) in Feb 2006, though a friend of mine was crippled for life in the middle of it.
