Okay so coming from SH3 and using half manual targeting, its been about a year and I need a lesson again. Im doing Trevally tutorials on RAOBF and 90 Degree shots (That was my signature, I dont mess with those angular shots unless I absolutely NEED to)

Basically I need re taught on how to intercept targets, mainly Hydrophone contacts, what I did is I took to marks at abour 3 hours apart of what direction my contact was then I connected those marks to get his approximate heading, I try to surface and beat him to a spot and no dice. So yeah, anyone want to school me again so I can feel good about sinking some tonnage?:arrgh!:

The tutorial I've recommended to you is useful for plotting an intercept course knowing the course and speed of your target. The method is still valid for hydrophone contacts, except for the fact that you have to find by yourself its speed/course. You can do it by using the four bearings method (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1575319#post1575319) ;)

@ flostt

the thread suggested by you seems interesting, but the download doesn't work, at least for me :-?

For contact reports though, what do I use when all it gives is bearing, scope bearing and true bearing. Im confused as to which is the right one to choose, Im used to a general course most of the time.
