View Full Version : Opinion! But Can They Eat 50 Eggs?
THE two electrifying rookies exploded onto the scene with killer smiles, undeniable gifts, an affinity for superheroes, poise beyond their years and the ability to play at top form when it’s all on the line. Both stay so calm under pressure that they have evoked comparisons to Cool Hand Luke.
The capital of winning and losing now revolves around two natural-born world shakers: the president of the United States and the quarterback of the Washington Redskins. Only one of them, however, is old enough to appreciate the compliment of being compared to Paul Newman’s character in the 1967 classic prison drama “Cool Hand Luke.”
“Coach said you’re just like Cool Hand Luke,” a reporter said to Robert Griffin III, after the Baylor graduate and Heisman Trophy winner returned home to Texas on Thanksgiving and scored four touchdowns to lasso the Dallas Cowboys, the Redskins’ biggest rival. “Do you know who Cool Hand Luke is?”

I do not expect anyone in todays generation to even know who Paul Newman is, much less appreciate movies who relied on great acting, and not CGI.
Luke died sticking to his principles, and not allowing himself to be tamed.
Yechhh, RG3 even being compared to Luke disgusts me. He is as conformist as they come, a born posterboy.
Go eat your damn Subway sandwiches, and stop crapping on the classics.:03:

I'm only 13, but I know that Paul Newman was a legendary western actor, and a sauce.

Sounds like you wish you had RG3 instead of that Karthwasten guy, or whatnot.

As long as I watched them lose for, I am more than happy with having 2 good quarterbacks.:)
I just dislike how "commercialized" he has become before he even did anything in the NFL. He still hasn't, honestly.
Don't get me wrong, he seems like a nice kid, I do not dislike him, I just want to hold off on crowning him for now.
No sour grapes here Daimyo-sama.:salute:
And it is Kaepernick, and you will be hearing more from him in the coming weeks. ;)

I am sure. And here's to hoping that you get them someday.

Doubtful. I don't work at the unemployment office. I doubt that Karthwasten and I will be crossing paths.

Such venom, I am greatly amused.
I suppose you have to be a dog killer to avoid the unemployment line?
All in good fun, no?

I just have a caustic way about me.
I mean it in good fun :)
Noooo, not something awful, more of an ex 4 channer.
It is why I find it so hard to behave here sometimes ;)

All seriousness, I was teasing.
I live in the NY area, and critisizing Philly teams is a national pastime, despite the fact I hate the NY (though both play in NJ) football teams.
Though if you really want me worked up about sports, bring up the Knicks.:O:
I can make a 2 post rant on why the same guy who owns my Cable company has ruined NY Basketball for 20 years...
