but like everything else Big Brother touches?
It don't work as it should!!

National Archives can not find some plans I wanted to order even though I know the plan number, name of the Ship, and it's number!

Hell! It's the CV-1, better known as the Langley!
Another waste of Tax Payer money?
:nope:

Thanks to wasted times at the Govt sites?
I went 'Rogue' and found a few images that I can work with.
Though not as good as I would have liked?
They will work for my project.

Here are plans for the Jupiter (which was converted into the Langley). Did you see these?

Got those and plans of the Cyclops.
What both are missing are the Hull lines information.
They look something like this image.

I don't suppose you could invoke the Freedom of Information Act on this?

Seriously, old ship plans should be open. Not like you are asking how the weapons system works. Or how to homebuild a naval radar.

The plans are there and available. I've seen them and have bad images of them.
Trying to find them at http://www.archives.gov/ so I can order a legit copy is the problem!

Another day wasted trying to find the needed info to order copies.
:nope:

I'm going to e-mail a R/C Model builder that has the plans I need.
I don't want a copy of his plans but am willing to pay him for the information to order my own set.
:yep:

His build of the U.S.S.Langley CV-1 is UNREAL!!
:o

Here's a guy who built a display model for a museum.
http://steelnavy.com/LangleyPenNAS.htm

And here's one in tiny 1/700 scale.

I saw that one Steve.
But I must say Mr. Blackmore's is more impressive for detailed work.
Check how he added the Hull plateing!
UNREAL!! And the museum model is missing that detail.

Got an e-mail from Mr. Blackmore last nite.
:yep:

He responded that the records may have changed as to where to actually find them.
:nope:
Sooooooooooooo,
I've made an offer to him about scanning only the parts of the plans I need.
I didn't go cheap skate on my offer incase you all wonder.
:D
