Hey guys I just picked up Arma II OA from Steam (on sale) anyway while I wait for it to down load I am lookinf for some good mods.

I do not have base Arma II so I am not looking for DayZ.

What I am after would be weapons mods I like my guns.I am looking for mods that add in weapons Like the FN FAL for example or the SCAR weapons things like this any weapons go AKs,M16s what ever the more the merrier.I would also be interested in any general "must have" type mods that improve the base game.

Also I have Arma and there is a mod that allows you to select weapons when ever you want to on the fly I used that alot messing around in Arma(playing single player). Is there anything similar for Arma II?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You need to visit armaholic.com, you'll find everything you need and much more.

Well I found the mods that I like for Arma II OA.

Now I have a new question/possible problem.

I purchased Arma II OA first and now I have Arma II installed yet I see no combined operations launch ability. Is something wrong or must you buy a specific copy of Arma II to get Combined Operations?

It seems as though merely having both Arma II and OA should allow you to have Combined Operations if they are the same source in my case Steam.

Now I have more issues.

It seems that the mod installing method that is used with OA does not work with Arma II:hmmm:.

I am making the @modname with the addons folder inside with the PBOs and then adding in the line in the launch line but nothing shows up in Arma II.:hmmm:

EDIT:the mods did not work because I am dumb I was copy pasting right from my OA files and of course they wont work with Arma II.Found the Arma II versions of what I need.

EDIT AGAIN MORON:/\\!!: All works as it should now Combined OPs and all now I dont need the ARMA II specific mods.

:haha: Glad you've got it working. Which mods did you go for in the end?

I'd suggest getting the utility playwithSIX. Select the mod, click play and it'll download and install it. Then if you want to play vanilla ARMA just launch it as you would normally. It's a nice tool. You have DayZ, ACE, OFP, etc.

Is that a new name for six-updater or six-launcher? They're what I use.

I mostly grabbed weapons mods by RH M4/M16,an RH that adds in several SCARs and also the Magpul ACR,RH Mk18/Mk14.

I also have a few by Vilas but that modder forgot some textures here and there so I might get rid of his and just use all RH weapon mods as they look better and the bolts always move and hold open on the correct weapons nick picky things that I like.RH seems to have the recoil on most weapons about right. The detail on the M14 bolt is very well done.

I might mess around with the "base" game a bit before trying the other mods.

So does it really matter if a mod was made for Arma II if you have combined ops you can just drop it in Arma II OA right?

I got ACE up and running and I like it so far my only problem is that the in game key config is so tiny I can hardly read it.

Its like small annoying text enjoy reading this! but smaller than that.

That is it. Though I had some issues of the mod not loading, or the launcher taking too long to update, recognize mods. So now I just use it to download/update and use the Arma mod enabler

Well now I have a new problem.I purchased from Steam the British Armed Forces pack and the Army of the Czech Republic DLC.

The AOCZ worked fine after doing the exit steam run as admin verify cache trick but British Armed Forces is AWOL. How do I make it work?

I see no sign of the BAF pack in the ArmA II files which makes me think that I never received any data from Steam for this pack.Or maybe something else is messing things up. If I look under expansions for BAF it says buy but I already bought it.:stare:

I have mods running and use the command line method.Maybe get rid of the command line extras and try it then?

Annoying to say the least any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe I posted on how I got it working in the ARMA II topic. Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: Wait, you have ARMA OA or ARMA II? Both? Which are you launching? It shows up under Combined Operations or OA.

Well that is the odd part I have both ArmA II and OA I had OA first and then got ArmAII a day later. If I launch ArmA OA in any way I can play everything in both titles if that helps.

But I have no option to launch the game as Combined Operations so if being able to play all campaigns when you launch OA means you have Combined Operations then I have it.That or I have a strange love child....

Another interesting thing is when I launched the game after getting the D/Ls the menu screen really bogs for a few seconds and then acts normally this never happened before maybe it is trying to get BAF and that is the bogging.

I dont know it only cost me $5.00 and the rest of the game works so if getting BAF requires an uninstall and re-install I'll pass.I know I could copy the base files and paste them back in but still that is a pain.

Just tell me any way you know off it will most likely work.

Found It!! It has it own launcher in my Steam library.Nice and confusing compared to the CZ one which just attaches itself.

Of course it has not installed so I will have to wait on that. But it should after that.

Not sure what might be causing the several seconds of bogg down at the the main menu but the rest of the game works so no big deal.

How does the the "no splash" command line work?

Here is what mine looks like where should the no splash bit go?:

-mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@ACE;@RHM14;@RHHk416;@RHM gswp;@RHM4;@RHMk18;@RHPistolPack;@RHsmg

(no spaces in RHMgswp but it shows up here with one)

I know I have trust issues with third party installer programs which is why I don't use any ARmA installers.
