If you already have a copy, why ask? You can now watch it and decide for yourself.

Ah you got me there Steve.

I'm watching it as I type this. What is your opinion on it?

I didn't like it, but I seem to be in the minority on that. Part of my problem is that back in the early 1960s I read a novel with a similar plot, but aboard a British submarine. I don't remember it going the same way, but the basic idea was there. Unfortunately I can't remember the title and though I've tried to look it up every way I can think of I've had no luck so far.

I like it so far. I think it's a good movie.

I am also playing DW and reading RSR at the moment so nuke boats are my favorite at the moment. U-boots are on hold.....for now.

I thought it was very entertaining movie.

Im in the RCN and the sub guys i know love (and hate) the parts where they scream out the command to go ultra silent.

The film crew almost got themselves killed because they were chasing around a boomer that was leaving King's Bay trying to get some footage of it diving...

I have watched this movie yestarday, I liked and disliked at the same time. If you consider this is a "submarine" movie, you will be dissapointed since there are lots of un-reality in it.

You can check for factual errors about this movie on IMDB, since I dont want to give spoilers I will not write here...Beside the errors, I doesn't give you anything about life in a submarine.

For the good parts I liked, the plot is good, just take in hand "Chain of Command" thing and leave the rest, consider the submarine is just a background for the story.

To finalise, I will say I dont consider this movie as a submarine movie, because in that case it is one of the worst sub movie I have ever watched, I consider this is a movie on "Chain of Command" and on military rules or situations, it is a good one

Actually, this movie could have started the story line behind the
TV series "Last Resort". It seems to me that they have very close
backgrounds and could have developed in nearly the same way....

I thought it was a pretty good movie and at the price you paid...a real bargain.

I bought Prometheus on the same day. That was 10$ and Crimson Tide was cheaper so they knocked it down to a dollar. I always go to Hastings for movies, music, and books.
