I jest got SH3 and I'm ty to get GWX installed but it want it is saying that I have mod's installed but I don't have any.

I'm not sure if this/these is/are what's happening or not.

Have you had a prior install of SH3 at all? If so, you have to assure that everything has been removed.

Have you made copies of the installation? I've noticed that if I installed SH3 then copied the entire directory over to a second one that GWX would give me the mod already installed errors for the copied directories but would work fine on the original-install directory.

Did you by any chance purchase the game through 'Steam' ?

With SHIII there a lot of hiddenn files. If you have played one game of SHIII THERE COULD BE HIDDEN FILES YOU CAN'T FIND. ALL THESE FILES MUST BE DELETED PRIOR TO relloading SHIII. I Use a application delet program.

Also in your documents folder is a file called SHIII which you must also delete.

Just find where steam stuck the game and point the installer there instead.

Hey not trying to thread jump. I am trying to get SH3 to work with GW3. When I am trying to install GW3 I get errors for all kinds of sound files. Starts about half way thru install.

Not a steam version, DL off the internet from a site. Its a legal copy too lol. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hi mate get GWX from either Jim's mediafire acct / GWX site, url's in his sig. Or alternately from my gamefront or mediafire acct, url below.

My internet is down but I think it was amazon or gamefly download. It install to ver1.4.01 and works good. I can install SH3 Commander and that works great.

I got the GWX from there site which links you to gamefront or mediafire I think, dang lack of internet.

Let me just say when looking for install info I seem to think they conflict. GWX says to do it on a fresh copy install of SH3 before commander is installed on the splash screen. The notes for commander say to do it after commander is installed.

That being said I have ten files for GWX
bins 1 to 7
the exe,
torrent.torrent,
and fullsingleinstall.exe.1.torrent

I also have the 1.2 sh3commander install. Used this when I loaded commander 1st and then ran before installing GXW

I get a error saying data\sound\gramaphone\21.ogg and every file after has a message
The soruce file is corrupted. So maybe I need to redownload the game will try running
repair. I no longer here the bells when setting speed but thought I used to

So I will re dl the gwx from the sig and mediafire and see what happens

Thanks been trying to get this to work for 2 days now. Guess I'm not software friendly lol.

Edit: Error data\sound\gramaphone\21.ogg is a bad 5 bin file. I have searched google in so many ways and I found a post at another site, ubi in fact. So I used the media fire link provided by fubar and replaced the 5 bin. And it seems to work. Thanks again for all the help, now I will get at it and see how many tons I can sink!

SH3 Commander is a separate install from SH3 and should not be installed in the SH3 folder, or activated, before installing GWX. It installs files in SH3 that must be rolled back (deactivated) before installing any mod, let alone GWX. :yep:

As long as it's working that is the main thing.

If you intend using SH3 Commander with GWX you will also need the cfg file:
