Hi all,
I'm in the Med, based at Toulon, and just leaving on my first patrol to the Carribean Oil campaign. Since I have to pass Gibraltar (about 95 km), I decided to see if my battery could handle it.
After 15 1/2 hours submerged at slow speed (1.5 knots), my battery is half charge. That covered just under 50 km which means I might just make that passage low and slow.
Remember that the map measurements are in kilometers while the sub speed is stated in knots. A nautical mile is 1.85 kilometers, or roughly 2:1
Naturally, if you go faster the range is greatly reduced. Now for that long Atlantic crossing! :salute:
