Hi fellow kaleuns, i have unexpectedly come upon a problem with my game. See pic:

I don't know how this has happened, i haven't added any more mods, or changed anything. After it happened i went thru everything and found it was the 16k atmosphere mod that was causing the problem. I have had that installed since i installed GWX in July without problem. After i found what the problem was i uninstalled everything and did a complete reinstall, just in case something had been corrupted. Same problem, no change. I'm stumped now. It is only the 16k Atmosphere that is the problem, as i have checked with only that mod installed.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Game error aside, that is one creepy picture. I look at it and expect a portal to some demonic realm to open any second. At the very least I'd expect an empty, decaying, clearly haunted, derelict passenger liner to come sailing up.

Is this problem constant? I mean, have you sailed around the place since it happened? If not, just give it a week (Game time) and see if anything changes. It could just be that the weather is overcast with no fog.

Yeah it is one spooky pic lol, just waitin for the marie celeste or cyclops to sail on by. It is constant i have played a few different single mission games and a patrol on my career. Its not just the black sky that is the problem when coming across a target, its smoke is white. Im goin to try another install and see if i can maybe find out the problem.

I see clouds like that and the first thing I want to do is look for an Admiralty V&W class tin can with D27 plastered on the side of it. :o Very foreboding.

One of those good/bad bugs. :)

If what Jim said doesn't work, uninstall the 16K mod, roll back SH3 Commander, then reinstall the 16K mod. From past posts on this problem, that seems to fix it.

It's like a VERY VERY VERY big tanker was hit far behind the horizon and the oil she carried is still burning and paints the sky black. Or is doomsday really coming? :huh:

That image, with a surfaced u-boat in the foreground and the four horsemen galloping toward the viewer out of the black would be epic.

Thank you for all the replies. I think i may have got it sorted. i hope. I did a reinstall and checked with only the 16k mod enabled and it seemed to work. Hopefully everythig is all good now. As for the pic, i'm goin to resize it and use it as my destop wallpaper. If anyone wants it, pm me.
