I can't imagine many folk here not knowing who she was...apart from Dooly that is :O:

Dutch actress Sylvia Kristel, who starred in the 1974 erotic French film Emmanuelle, has died aged 60.
"She died during the night during her sleep," her agent, Marieke Verharen, told the AFP news agency.
The actress, who had cancer, was admitted to hospital in July after suffering a stroke.

I remember talk of this film when I was a wee lad. Age 60 is relatively young this day in age.

Now here's me thinking I'm the only one with a similar answer/explanation.

She was a star among my generation. In the mid 80s, among the first channels we were able to receive on cable were the Dutch ones, a country which had a different concept of censorship than Germany. :yep: Thousands of teens stayed up late to see the artistic movies they showed there - and the teachers wondered why we were so sleepy in the morning...:sunny:

49 years of heavy smoking plus a bunch of years of coke can take their toll. :nope:

But yeah, 60 is not that old.

RIP glad she was able to die in her sleep. :yep:

Late night cable in the late 80's. Heck, no different than what you can see on regular TV these days.

No idea why she's famous, but still, RIP.

I'm giving more of my age away here, but didn't she star in a TV series by Jerry Anderson called SPACE 1999, in it's last season with Brian Blessed? She played some space alien and he her father?

Saw this today and was a little sad. But she was always way too old for me.:03: Doownles would never have seen her work unless his dad was into it.:O:

No, it doesn't seem to have been her.

And Brian Blessed only appeared in two episodes.
