Here is a list of details covering items such as season tickets, match day tickets, a cuppa, a programme, pies etc.
Not hard to tell where the most money is being made:

I can't believe there are no pies at some of the ladies' games! :o
No wonder they have fewer spectators.

Well, there's sometimes very little football at the ladies' games, that'll be another reason. :D
I know, I know. Not exactly what a modern man should be saying, but I'm just basing that on my ex flatmate's team...
Although, having said that, there appears to be very little football in the Mens' game either a lot of the time.
I think the most expensive tickets I've bought were a couple of years back when Rangers played Valencia and Man Utd in the Champs League. I think they were both about 60 notes apiece. Mind you, they were both fantastic games, especially the Valencia one.
Given our present predicament, though, I reckon they'd let you through the gate if you brought them a couple of oranges for half time.

Pie and tea?:hmmm: No beer? What kind of pie?

Any of you guys season ticket holders? How often do you go to a match?
Pie and tea?:hmmm: No beer? What kind of pie?
:
Tea? Nah, not at footie: Pie and Bovril, the way God intended.
As for the type of pie, I usually prefer a steak pie myself. I used to get a burger from one of the stands outside Ibrox before a game but the last couple of times I spent the next few days with a very dodgy tummy so I knocked that on the head.
I wouldn't mind a season ticket but as I work every second saturday it always seems to coincide with our home games so I wouldn't get to use it very often. I personally haven't been to a game this season yet, which is kind of bad of me, but a lot of that is to do with the above work related issue. Haven't been to an away game in years and I'm not going to start again now. Since we got kicked down to the third division I'm not even sure where some of our opponents actually are.....
I love going to the football, Especially the big European and cup games on a weekday night. Going up the stairs and out onto the terraces with the floodlights blazing down on the pitch. Every space absolutely rammed and all belting out the songs and the jokes and the abuse (wouldn't be football without some gratuitous swearing and commentary on the ref's sexual preference now would it?)
Aw, man. I'm never getting to one of those nights again...:wah:
When our NFL teams play a game in the UK, do folks over there enjoy going to it or watching the game?

I have to be honest, it's never going to be huge here, but there is a sizeable minority who probably watch it. The Superbowl gets shown over here too, but the only person I ever really knew who watched it every year was my GF's father, who was from the states. It's not that people are anti American sport, but I think a lot of people struggle with the either the length of the game or what we still - rightly or wrongly - to be the stop/start nature of it.
See, I still maintain that the secret to Footie's enduring status as THE obsession of yer average Brit was the fact it's 90 minutes in length. A couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, a pint afterwards and home before the wife complains too much. :)
Various TV companies have been trying to drum up interest in American Football since the mid 80's but it's never really taken off, for whatever reason. It does better here than I imagine Baseball would (no idea about Basketball,). I used to like watching the ice hockey when it was on Channel 5.
Thanks Egan, I was just wondering how our games did in the UK!:)

Nothing better than a few pints at the Boelyn before heading to Upton Park for a pie and a match. Not done it in a few years but will have to sort it out next time I visit the outlaws.

I think the biggest followed foreign sport for a while was Kabaddi in the '90s. :har:
Basketball, baseball, and (cough :stare:) football do have a following but you'd be hard pressed to see someone wearing any fan kit in the UK or know who they are. Maybe in some cities they may have a greater presence, but not where I've lived.
Kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi!

The Hammers are currently in a health 8th position...not bad considering it's their first season back up.

Up to 7th now and Norwich lead Arsenal by a single goal at half time.
They are travelling OK so far. I wonder if they will do their usual Xmas slide down the table though? I'm forever blowing bubbles!
