I have had a very, very odd thing happened to me today AND a continuing thing that keeps happening. I hope I can get some comments on both.

First, the the continuos thing; I have noticed that, say one falls asleep and a destroyer sneaks up on you, and low & behold, you're toast!! So, no problem, load last auto/your own and play over!! HOWEVER, upon re-loading the last save, the weather changes!!!!??? :stare:WTF??? I have seen this from, I think, from the time I was playing the vanilla game associated w/Steam. And it happens every time. And if one re-loads the same save a thied time, it goes back to weather on first!! Now, I have been playing DW's 7.1, stoiamn evweather,FX and IRAI, which I took out this afternoon, because of next discussion. Are any of these mods in conflict?? Also, I was out in southern attack area(100,000 tons) and it was foggy, rough for 4-5 days in a row. I thought some of these mods were suppose to reduce this kind of thing.

Secondly, the very odd thing. Earlier in afternoon I was playing in southern area and came across 3 destroyers and I could not shake them!!
I managed to get far enough away to get on the surface and put sub on max surface speed and could lose them temporaryly. But, as soon as I slowed down they showed up(never really finding me but no matter which direction I went, no matter what I did, the 3 shadowed me, like I was on a leash. I finially got discusted and got out of game and disabled IRAI. This did not seem at all realistic, being that it was 1939, not 44-45!! Has anyone else experienced something like this??? Is(are) there threads that deal with this. Also, and this is big for me; in the IRAI area, there was mentioned a way to adjust this, but I did not understand it at all. Remember, this is the most I have messed with modding.

I hope someone(s) will help. I wasted most of my afternoon with this bunk. If there are threads or videos, that will do also. But if you write, please be very specific for this nubie.

Well known vanilla bug. Noone of the mods mentioned by you can address it, since it is hardcoded. Only TDW could look into it. :yep:

This is not an IRAI feature, but rather another bug that had been discussed quite a lot lately. It can happen with both Allied or friendly war ships/supply ships. Usually saving/reloading fixes the issue :up:

Marshall, dive to pericope depth and lay in wait for them. Then blast em out of the water. :yep: :D

MN, Re-install IRAI. I had the same problem. DarkWraith sent me the following message and it works.
"Lower the difficulty settings of IRAI until you are proficient at evading. You can find the difficulty settings in \data\Scripts\AI\init.aix. Open the file with Notepad." You can make them so ineffective they won`t even follow you. you will see these two value 85 and 100 lower both numbers as much as you want then build them up slowly as you get more proficient. :yep:

I can write down how to locate the files if you have further problems.
Just look for the numbers 85 over 100. See the number 5`s those are the subs sensors....I changed them to 5. yours should read 85 over 100.
################################################## ###############
###################### Difficulty parameters ####################
# Note: difficulty is in range 0 - 100 with 0 being no difficulty (sensor doesn't exist) below the 5 are the Merchants values. I would not mess with them
# all the below get divided by 100 in code
# for non-merchants
VISUAL_DIFFICULTY_MIN = 5;
VISUAL_DIFFICULTY_MAX = 5;
HYDROPHONE_DIFFICULTY_MIN = 5;
HYDROPHONE_DIFFICULTY_MAX = 5;
RADAR_DIFFICULTY_MIN = 5;
RADAR_DIFFICULTY_MAX = 5;
SONAR_DIFFICULTY_MIN = 5;
SONAR_DIFFICULTY_MAX = 5;
# for merchants
VISUAL_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MIN = 85;
VISUAL_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MAX = 100;
HYDROPHONE_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MIN = 85;
HYDROPHONE_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MAX = 100;
RADAR_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MIN = 85;
RADAR_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MAX = 100;
SONAR_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MIN = 85;
SONAR_DIFFICULTY_MERCHANT_MAX = 100;

I am quite comfortable with everything set to 5. I found it very fair since
I had at least 13 destroyers searching for me ! Not sure that ever happened in real life ...it would be interesting if anyone out there can confirm that it was common for that to happen? :hmm2:
