This site has a listing of the 25 most overplayed songs we hear on the radio. Do you agree with it?

Well thing is that I'm not bothered when one of those songs is a bit overplayed.

but I recall a summer where all I could hear on that damn bloody radio was LAS KETCHUP! with that god awfull song Asereje which brought to a episode of psychotic furious madness that if there was a button to have the universe implode on itself I would push it! :stare: but alas there's no such button and thank god I haven't heard the song ever since on the radio so rest assured :know:

I disagree with the list, almost completely.

There are worse songs played with much more frequency. Glen Campbell's cover of Good Riddance should be there instead of Green Day.

I love these completely subjective lists. So much to argue over. :haha:

No Stereophonics 'Handbags and Gladrags' or Rod Stewart 'Maggie May'.

I'm sure every genre has its list of overplayed songs. What gets played is up to the station (or franchise) owner. I come from the 'Classic Rock' era, and for me those songs don't even represent it. The consequence is that I don't even own a radio anymore. I have a music collection on my computer, and that's all I ever listen to. From ancient to medieval to renaissance to baroque to classical to romantic to folk to blues to country to older and modern rock. All of the songs on that list I listen to, but in the context of the albums they came on. I listen to a whole album while I go through subsim every day.

Today's album was Planet Earth, by Sugarloaf (January 1971). No hits, nothing that would ever get radio play, but it's part of the catalog by a band I liked, and it's good enough for me.

I'm too old for Radio 1.

I'm not old enough for Radio 2.

And 3-6 don't count.

So I don't know...:doh::haha:

I don't agree with the list either. Anyone remember how many times they played Debby Boones song "You light up my Life"? Or the theme song from "Titanic" by Celine Dion? I have no problem with her at all, but got tired of hearing that song over and over.

I haven't listened to the radio in forever. Pandora is my friend.

I agree regarding Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit", personally.
