Today will be the first full throttle run of the engine due to drive Andy Green further into the record books. When you use a Cosworth F1 engine as a fuel pump you know it's a serious business! :o

I am sure that this is an urban legend but I heard that some guy in Indiana managed to purchase some surplus JATO tanks designed for C-130s supposedly they where still live and he mounted them to his 1977 Firebird in an attempt to make a rocket car.So he got out on the road and let them rip but lost control killing himself in the process.
No doubt they made a Mythbusters episode about it but I heard this long before that show was around.
