View Full Version : Turkish pilots killed by Assad, not crash
With these new evidence, I wonder if this going to increase the "hatred" between those two nations?

If it's true, then Syria have broken every rule in ROE and treating a pow.

Is it possible to increase the hatred that already exists?

I thought that it was between Turkey and Greece this hatred was and not between Syria and Turkey.
Well the word "tension" would have been better, but that word is already used in the article.
And what about the info that Russia, had their part on this execution
"Based on information and guidance from the Russian leadership comes a need to eliminate the two Turkish pilots detained by the Special Operations Unit in a natural way and their bodies need to be returned to the crash site in international waters"

So, lets play hypotheticals. Sorta a political math equation of sorts.
Turkey Retaliates, crushes Assad, since they are Americas BFF...A point which will be made.
Equals!
Automatically Americas fault! (as it always is)
Someone eventually blames Obama for doing or not doing.
I hope Turkey curb stomps them, they use our equipment, and are well trained. A more tolerant society, barring the thing in 1919, and the denial of it, I prefer them over Pakistan.

Maybe the Turks saw something that the Russians did not want them to report. Another possibility is that Russia wants to intimidate Turkey to make them stop further military engagement. After all,m Syria is a warzone and Russia plays an active role with troops on the ground (naval base) and massive logistical and intel support. The use of chemical weapons is being prepared, and got tested in presence of Iranian officers some weeks ago.

I save myself from a long essay and just say this: Turkey is not your ally anymore, you should have noted that since several years by now. And it is turning "fundamentalist".
On the other hand, the US calls Saudi Arabia a friend, too, so why should I be surprised.
They even call Pakistan a friend, while running a drone bombing campaign at the same time.
So many words, so little meaning. Hopeless. :dead:

Yeah no one likes us. It is what it is. Nothing a mere citizen can change. I would rather give my money to Greece, than Pakistan!
But them whacking Assad would still save alot of others the eventual trouble.

There is a lot of speculation on this issue but I doubt the truth will ever be fully known.
Not that I trust Russia either...especially when it has interests/base in the area.
