For a while I had "CRAP!" taped on my C key, but nothing permanent. Was for more than just Silent Hunter.

Okay, I'm more obtuse than I had imagined. I wasn't making the connection with the key's function in the game. Thanks for the clarification.

No, I still won't paint the key, but at least now I know what the question was for. :doh:

Oh...I also have a backlit keyboard, so when I play at night all my keys are red. :D

Mine too, but I really should look at the keys more often. Being able to touch type only helps when the fingers are correctly set for such, games aren't. :/\\!!

I always thought it was the cofee button....whenever I push it I suddenly feel the urge for a coffee to steady my nerves as I set in for a long, silent wait at 200 metres.

Worse yet, it's the one key you can't read, between SH3 and the games that use it as Crouch or prone, its essentially been wiped off.

my ounce of prevention scotch tape not the most pretty looking but it keep the wear down.

For worn key letters. I know, it's not what was meant by Rconch in his original post. ;)

No, no scotch tape. :down: Use clear fingernail polish to proctect from wearing off the key letters when you get a new keyboard. It's lasts a long long time. And if you need to later on, add more. Works great, even on backlit keys. :D

To mark a special key, use colored fingernail polish. Scotch tape will make on heck of a mess.
