After a 10 month career of relatively good success, with only one blunder, Sinking of a 10K tonne merchant from the United States, I plan a raid on Scapa Flow. (GWX)

But before we begin, I was assigned U-47...And an oddity was we heard U-47's overdue and presumed lost message from BdU.

Seting sail from St. Nazirie, I plot a course to the outside the British Isles. Passing Brest, a major storm brews up. During a calm part of the storm, we spot an Isle class Frigate. As it's so stormy, I decide not to dive. We launch a stern shot. The frigate splits in two and sinks in seconds. We then dive, to listen for anything else. Contact!

Aproaching the contact, we spot a British S class submarine. A single torpedo shot, and it misses. i chalk it up as a lost cause and return to course. A whole ten days of constant storm, with it breaking as we turn away from the Atlantic and head for Scapa. But wait! The storm turns north and hits us just as we dive for the western aproach into Scapa.

Inside the cove/inlet/whatever, the storm worsens, and I surface, and make a flank run for the historical U-47's entranceway. We wait out the storm just inside the Subnets, and at noon, the storm breaks. At about 3, the sea is perfectly calm, and a destroyer comes to take a peek. He get's to about 700 meters, and I launch a single fish, breaking the poor VnW's back. No one else comes, and I assume the british think the destoyer hit a mine.

Midnight. We head for the port at Scapa. On the way, I spot a Fiji class cruiser. Two fish into her, and she goes down. Aproaching the port, I spot another Fiji class, a 7000 ton merchant, and a few fishing vessels. Four fish, two to the cruiser, two to the merchant. I watch both of them sink as a destroyer spots my scope. I come to a full stop, rig for silent running, and start my screws at 1/2 knot.

Ping! "We're taking damage sir!" We get depth charged and bottom out. Flooding in all but the two torpedo compartments, and I order the all the code books and any other sensitive information burned. With he Enigma destroyed, we blow ballast and surender the boat. As we're taken off, the few remaining torpedo's warheads are set off by the scuttleing charges. U-47 sinks to the bottom of Scapa flow, with my Career ending at 0121, June 21st, 1941.

(Reality was we were charged to death on the bottom)
