I deiced to revisit Morrowind and picked it up from Steam.
Anyway I never played the PC version so I am looking for a list of suggested
mods for the game.

I see a few seemingly good ones at the Nexus like MGE and MGE XE.

Anyway I am mainly looking for mods that improve the world and game play
and any must have bug fixes or fan patches things like that.

Morrowind Overhaul is really like the GWX of Morrowind mods. It's a snap to install (the installer actually takes over your mouse at one point and clicks the appropriate options.) It freshens up the graphics and gameplay without making it unrecognizable to those who have been Morrowind fans since day one (like me.) I actually just started up a new character the other day.

Current version is 2.0. 3.0 has been in the works for a while, and they keep promising that it's coming soon, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Download page is here: http://www.ornitocopter.net/mirrors-mirrors-mirrors/

I'll try it do you know how it compares to MGE?

Oh man it says that it will take 9 hours to D/L that is far too long they must have a very slow server.
Most of the links are bad. The only other one that works says 4 hours that will have to wait for a rainy day then
I lack that level of patience on an off day.

It includes MGE. It installs it and that's the part where it takes over your mouse and sets up the appropriate options.

Even the torrents are slow?

MGE is fine with me for now.

Helle Stealhead,

a must have mod is the Morrowind Code Patch (MCP). It is not a mod per se, it's smiliar what H.sie did for SHIII.

As my english is not so good, please look at the Bethesda forum for the topic "Repairing the Cogs of Morrowind" for further details.

The difference between MGE and MGE XE ist, that MGE XE will be further developed. A few weeks ago, there was a new version uploaded. I think it was 0.99 or so. For further details look also in Bethesda forum for the topic "Shelter from Magnus' Blaze". There are also download links available.

Edit: Typos corrected.

Use this. Mookie's spot on - Morrowind Overhaul is by far the best complete modpack out there. Even if it takes a while to download, it'll be worth it. As with all big modpacks, make sure you back up the whole Morrowind directory before installing - MO has the potential to be very graphics intensive, so it may take a fresh install or two to get your settings right.
