Seeing that we have two threads about the best James Bond I figured we need a best Bond Girl thread so list yours.

My favorites

The Loving Spoonful must have been thinking of me when they wrote that song
"Did You Ever Have to Makeup Your Mind?" :haha:

I should have used girl(s) you do not have to pick just one if you more than one favorite.

Moneypenny is the real hard to get one if you think about Bond has been flirting with her for years and no dice she is a Miss after all
I bet that she is a dominatrix during her off hours.

Of course people mention Moneypenny, and she was 'M's personal secretary, but anyone who hasn't read the books doesn't know that the '00' section had their own secretary, Loelia Ponsonby. She was secretary to 007, 008 and 0011, and they all tried and were all rebuffed by her. Gotta love a woman who can say no to James Bond and friends.

Let us not forget Mary Goodnight who was not always good at the rebuffing. :03:

Nobody fills a leather body suit like Diana Rig. Well maybe Liz Hurley.

But speaking of Bond Girl type characters how about Tasha de Vasconcelos in Johnny English? Rawr!

Not the tenth-last one, she'd KILL me!
Literally. I have no intention of being crushed during sex.

Maybe not the best Bond Girl, but certainly one of the most memorable. Shirley Eaton's appearance as "Jill Masterson" in "Goldfinger" is iconic and really set the tone for the whole franchise. I remember when the film was first released, all the talk was about the "Golden Girl"...

I just noticed, Octopussy was also The Man With the Golden Gun's lover.

That was a blatant reuse of the actress that was never explain in the movie.

He was going to, but then she:

Novel: Killed herself, left a note saying that she was working for SMERSH.

Film: Betrayed him to QUANTUM and then effectively drowned herself.

Sailor Steve
09-21-12, 07:06 PM
Yes, I've read the book a dozen times since 1964, and I've seen the movie twice. That incident is allegedly why he treats women so casually. The comment was that Tracy was the only one who actually manage to land him. I like Vesper too, and Casino Royale is probably my favorite of all the books. :sunny:

Just a nit to pick until it bleeds

Vesper was an agent for the MWD Ministerstvo Vnutrennikh Del or Ministry of Internal Affairs. Parts of the MWD, in 1954, were combined into the new KGB.

She committed suicide because she heard that SMERSH was after her and she thought that by killing her self she could save Bond.

Just as a side note, Flemming was in error. A long term emplaced agent like Vesper would not have been in the MVD but would have most likely been MGB or GRU.

Trying to keep track of Soviet intel/security is an exercise in alphabet soup. :/\\!!
