View Full Version : Vladimir Putin says of Mitt Romney: At least he’s direct
MOSCOW — Soviet leaders used to prefer Republicans to Democrats, in the belief that Republicans were tough but more sincere and, once they made a promise, were more likely to deliver on it.There has been a whiff of that old way of thinking in recent remarks by President Vladimir Putin, even though plenty has changed in Russia’s relations with the United States. Speaking to reporters last week, Putin said he appreciates GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s bluntness in his denunciations of Russia — because that stance lets Russia know where it stands, and reinforces Putin’s opposition to a missile defense shield in Europe.
Sarcastic? Maybe just a bit.

What Putin probably means by this brings to mind a famous saying of a much better Republican president:
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

It's always fun to hear about what ex-KGB officers think of our millionaire elite republican candidate.

"Tough but sincere"?

That's actually just how I'd want the Russians to see our POTUS.

But did Putin look into Romney's eyes and see his soul?

Putin did and he then went out and slayed a Siberian tiger because Putin is too powerful and finds it very hard not to absorb the soul of a weaker man therefore he instead absorbed the soul of said Siberian tiger then he cut down some trees for good measure with his fists of course. That is what Russia Today said anyway.

I am glad a bucket of murdering feces approves.
Shouldn't he be busy killing people in one of his former satellite countries?
Or rigging elections. Or having stupid stories written about his hunting prowess while having shirtless pics snapped of him?
I am happy he approves, and even happier he is not a legal voter here.

Really it was Putin saber rattling in response to Mitts saber rattling.Actually Putins was much more clever than Mitts was.Cold War mentality facing Cold War mentality it is 2012 not 1983.
Putin will be gone sooner or later a Russian bear will devour him(Putin) it is just hibernating right now.

So you enjoy outright totilarianism, at least we try to mask it. ;)
I would vote for R$mney before Putin. At least he cares for some of us.
Putin needs a comeback of the cold war, so he can use fear to solidify power.
Stalin in the making.
