After the latest rash of killings, the US has suspended joint ops and training with the Afghan arny! I say its about damned time too! We have had enough with these clowns shooting American soldiers in the back and taking off! 6 have been killed in the last week or so, along with 3 or 4 I believe from Australia.

Yes the whole scenario is too much something radical needs to take place for it not to get a foothold,:nope:

Sounds like a great time to remove all US forces from AF. :yep:

Other than TAP pipeline, I still don't see anything in AF that is worth a single military member's life.

I agree Platapus, time to go! The cost in lives certainly isn't worth it. The cost in taxpayers dollars isn't worth it. But, I would like to see the Air Force turned loose on a nasty bombing campaign, just because it would make Karzai crazy!! Maybe in NE Afghanistan and NW Pakistan, if the Taliban is there, hit 'em hard and just level those areas.. Then leave leaflets that say "C'ya! Its been fun!"

Yes, trapped in the Afghan maze already for too long. Training has been a mess since many years. Since it began, to be precise.

After the latest rash of killings, ISAF/NATO has suspended joint ops and training with the Afghan army!

Fixed. :03:

Almost, they haven't suspended joint ops, they suspended the routine patrol joint ops. Large-scale joint ops will be supported on a case-by-case basis.

I guess it took the troops of the ANA wiping out all the Harriers in VMA-211 and killing the squadron's CO to realize these people are not our friends. :nope:

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

They see us the way an inmate sees the correction officer, they may smile and be nice to our faces, but behind our backs, we are pigs, and conspire to shank us.

They despise our supervision. And honestly, can you blame them?

Our friends, aliies, what a crock of mierda.

I think it's time to admit that Afghanistan is screwed and hanging around is, sadly, only going to screw it up even more. By all means keep a drone force on the cards to plink at the organised cells, but you can launch that from a carrier offshore. The ground just isn't safe any more.

I don't know what the mission in Afghanistan was, but it's over now.

Good thing about drones is we can control them from Boston,Kalamazoo or Kenosha, with guys who are awesome at Call Of Duty.

Or we can leave them to thier own devices, and let them kill each other like they usually do, when they do not have America to polarize against.:yep:

Oh, they'll still band together against America, probably over the US bases in Saudi Arabia, or it'll be over US oil companies, or something someone in the US has said. Face it, the US and to a lesser extent Europe, is the Middle Easts whipping boy for the next century at least. It's the only thing that'll hold them together.

Of course, once the US no longer needs the Middle East, then a simple false flag attack at Medina and/or Mecca will spin the Middle East into a devastating civil war for several decades.

I guess these 3 Senaters think we should stay there forever! If the Afghans think their country is worth fighting for, then let them take care of it!

So Afghans don't count as people?
I think that they're worth fighting for. First we wipe out the Taliban, then overthrow the corrupt government.

I watched a documentary where they followed a Navy Corp man a company of Marines and a Air Force Pararescueman (PJ) for a year they where all in the same province but where involved in different aspects of the mission they all did agree that there where things worth fighting for but that we needed to do something about the corrupt government other wise all is for nothing.the current policy is to do nothing at all for the most part about the corrupt government even though that is what the real afghans want not the screw ups or the Taliban.

The distraction of the Iraq War pretty much screwed over the decent folk in Afghanistan. We had the Taliban nearly crushed then we just turned around and let them take it right back.

My point was not to attack civilians, it was mean't to destroy any strongholds the Taliban are in. That's why I said NE Afghanistan or NW Pakistan where the Haqqani group hides out.:)
