It is the best simulation we are probably going to get.
Has anyone heard of any U-boat game being developed?

This mirrors my sentiments. I have tried, but something feels missing, just seems too easy sometimes.
Trolling the Pacific for contacts is even worse than getting a Central Atlantic patrol spot in '39, and Japanese ships, are way dumber than British or American ones when trying to kill you
SH5, was just a mess, The modders tried, made it playable, but it never held the same unpredictability, and fun that SH3 had.
Old games are sometimes superior, just that there are alot of graphics whores about, who have too much influence over what gets developed.
I still fire up Rome Total war, with the realism mod and whup me some Carthiginians. Despite the age of the game, and the great "newer" TW games they made. It is just fun.
Old never means bad.:D
Especially with the mods, something game companies have taken from us in recent years. (no, not you Bethesda, you guys still rock)

Yes that has been a popular wish for so many in the community.

I second that. In fact, I don't think I have a game on my PC that's not at least 5 years old, and at least 2 that have been out 10 years. Some of it is because I have an older PC but like you said a lot of these new games just focus on graphics at the expense of gameplay.

What is the UH supermod?

What is the UH supermod?
It appears that this is going to be the best SHIII super mod ever. I have a copy of one of their major threads. Should be released in December.
Hi gentleman's,
Many of you where thinking i abandoned my mod project but you where wrong U-BOOTTYPIIA_HAHD is very much
alive and kicking!
I remember that in my first post on U-BOOTTYPIIA_HAHD Hitman tell me that he would put my mod in a sticky
thread upon release so if you where serious about it, then this will help me to get the feedback from the
community and i would updated it each week as testing progress.
I have here 4 HD videos close to 38 min to show you the main features in U-BOOTTYPIIA_HAHD they took me 2
days just to upload them but the image quality is superb.
I also start working on the VIIC (i can see some smiles) VIIC/41,IX-B, IX/C40 will also be included.
To give you an idea of the scope of U-BOOTTYPIIA_HAHD i have made close to 130 highly detail texture map
including complete new UV layout and for those who knows how a 3d pipeline work you understand how much work
it is.
Plus all the new models and assets and tweaks, i am very happy with the end result and i have more surprised
coming on the way for you guys.
The only thing left to do is part of my interior and it is a pain because of my low end computer since
interior models even well optimize are crashing my system and i used the 3gb switch.
You will noticed some errors on certain asset like the flak gun handle not matching the hand position this
will all be fix on final release no worry there, some historical buildings and others 3d models are not shown
in the videos but they will be implemented on final release.
The environment is not final either i want to make the water murkier and ajust fog, for the green color
underwater a friend of mine who have dive in Wilhelmshaven and in the north sea send me pictures, i just
sample 2 colors from those pics to get this green underwater color. I know that the color is not green around
the English channel but since most TypIIA where coastal boat that justify my choice.
The average frame rate i got on my low end system are between 34 and 81 fps depending on how many high detail
models are in your field of view.
You can watch the videos with full screen since they are in HD 1280X720 only some video with stock Sh3 footage are lower a bit because of size restriction on youtube.
And don't worry about the boat plate number it will be remove upon release i just put it there as a tribute to that successful TYPIIA.
So i hope you will enjoy those videos as much as i enjoy making them here are the links:
