President Obama allows 'Big Oil' to set sail for waters off the coast of Alaska to begin drilling for oil.

http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/aureview/1981/jul-aug/becker.htm If Germany did it why can't America, I'm really getting tired of being lied to, there is no reason for the misery this government is putting us through and every american life that has been lost in the middle east over oil has been a waste. We need to get the arab oil monkey off our backs.

Yubba is actually saying a good thing.

He is being nice to the president for one (as nice as he has ever been at least) :D, and speaking on alternatives to blowing our own boys up for Haliburton, and Blackwater (or Xe, or whatever they started calling themselves after they mowed down a village in Iraq)

I have to agree with him, I want freedom from the oil monkeys too, and I sit on the opposite side of the political spectrum from Yubba.

Looks like as far apart as we seem, we are not always so far apart.

Synthetics is good. But I want non-partisan studies, not sabotaged by oil companies with lobbying. Which is exactly what this will run into.

If a R proposes it, it will be smeared by the other side as big corporate welfare. If a D says it, then it will be seen as anti-bussiness.

Until we can get past hating and blaming one another, we are screwed.

I only hope GB takes us back into the commonwealth, when we crumble from infighting.

(You lost 13, but gain 50, plus guam and Puerto Rico)

I still ain't to cool with that queen stuff. Nudes of Middleton, before we commit.

We reserve the right to dump tea off of ships, at any time.

That is par for the course in topics you write on

If Germany did it why can't America,
America does, ask the dept of energy the dept of transport and the dept of defence, your evil government has been using this "revolutionary" process you seem ignorant of for years.
But it is still a very inefficient alternative, though unlike the oil shale fields you seemed surprised about those snythtic methods are not so inefficient as to be only viable when gas prices are at record levels.

First sentence kinda harsh, this post has good intentions, something constructive, rather than divisive, which we are used to.

The American process is sadly ruined by corporate obstruction, using thier lobbied (i.e, the clean term for bribed) charges in Congress. Just look at the tax breaks oil corps get, and the crap that clean energy catches, for being "wasteful"

GE paid....Oh nothing! Exxon/mobil, BP? Hmmm. ok slightly more than the nothing, but too little. They spend thier money on killing/discrediting alternative energy programs. Not paying to operate in a free society.

They can always move to China, where they will be told when they can crap, and how many sheets to wipe with. Someone will step up to take these companies places, if given a fair chance by our favorites playing government.

True capitalism is dead sadly, just look at the bank bailouts, they should have croaked long ago.

So maybe I can understand Yubbas frustration here. Normally I would let you jump all over him, but he has some fair points, and good intentions.

Soopaman2 - you gotta learn to stop quoting tribesman. He never can be positive about anyone or anything - his purpose is always to deride and mock. Nothing else. Constructive criticism delivered to help others improve is usually welcome - that is sadly never his intent. Thus he resides on a fair number of ignore lists.

Haplo you ought to learn to be less of a plonker.

Soopa, with regards to your comment on alternatives and the oil industry, the stynth oil is a good example. But in the wrong way for your comment
Companies piled billions into developing those huge fields yubba thought were a new find, all during the 70s and into the 80s following the mid-east crisis lots of long established and new firms put in huge sums for devolping those altenative sources. They got government assistance to do so.
It all ended when Saint Ronnie pulled the plug on government support for synthetic fuel and little companies like Exxon had to say goodbye to their billions they invested.

Naughty boy don't feed his obsession, you know he stalks me:rotfl2:
I just wish he would put his last sig back up, that was a real screamer.

Soopa has it in essence though, you have people calling for free market protectionism with socialist capitalism and increased decreased government funding and more and less regulation but just sticking a teamD/R on their self contradictory "idea"lism.
Its sad but some of the comments on oil here lately have made less sense than that fruitloop down venezuela way does, which is quite an achievement.
Come to think of it the BP spill was a good example of the flippety flopping that goes on show in the partisan circus.

One part where Soopa does come adrift is China though, firms are lining up and begging to be allowed oil deals with China just like the Chinese are trying to buy into oil deals in the US and anywhere else.

Haplo, thanks for the concern. 99% of the the time I want to spit on Tribesman posts, but he actually made sense.

Plus I masochistically enjoy the art of trolling. Not condoning it, but always get a giggle when people fall for it.

I did chastize for him being mean to Yubba.

Now I will quote the late Rodney King.

"Can't we all just get along?"

Enjoy the trolls, like I do, feed them even, just lace the meat the with anti-freeze first.

My old forum was 4 chan, these guys are lightweight trolls.:D
