That guys a silly wannabe. There's only one real Master, and I'll bet that's who Rhodes was referring to in the first place.

Grats on your years of hard, hard work!:woot:

Now keep it moving forward, then we can all call you "the resident Doc":D

I am kinda envious, I am just a ditch digger.:haha: (literally, I operate a backhoe for a road crew)

We need more smart people here, too many folks like me. ;)

Well done! I got two masters' degrees myself, uh well one from Canada and the equivalent here in French-speaking Switzerland called a DES (diplome d'etudes superieur) since it was a prerequisite to entering the PhD programme in IR I was interested in.

For the record I dropped out of the PhD as it was dragging on, I lost interest and wanted to make money not spend it, actually I had no money to spend. :shifty:

If I may be so bold what was the subject of your masters' Rhodes? I think you are right to think before plunging into a PhD - it's a big commitment and you have to be sure you really want it and love the subject before dedicating 4-5 years of your life to it. Balance that with economic questions-I know very well what situation your country is in but only you can judge what direction you want to go in. Nevertheless if you want any advice feel free to contact me-good luck whatever you decide. :salute:

I bet we would fare better than most online communities.

I can point you to a few online sewers.

A subsimmers only crime is loving a under-represented genre.:wah:

We are normal, it is everyone else who is messed up.:D

Besides, Rhodes is here with us, any study he does on naval sim lovers would be positive....Right?

I am an Italian-American from New Jersey....so... positive...Right?:shifty:

Yikes, yeah... I have this feeling that I may be in the process of doing the same right now. Still trying to salvage it, but boy that's getting more difficult by the day.

Not to discourage people from getting PhDs though. I just think that while anyone who thinks that maybe they could do a masters, should do that without too many second thoughts. It's doable, it's good, you usually get your worth out of it. PhD, on the other hand, is something to think long and hard about. It's a massive commitment.

Any cultural/social anthropologist when doing his/her field study should do the observation/participation, have to "re-socialize" to be apart of the new culture, if not it will only be a study of a third person point of view.
And since I am not a c/s anthropologist, I am a palaeoanthropologist, I do not care of any that I wrote above.

But GT is a great place to do Doctorate thesis in nuts behavior...:woot::O::arrgh!::|\\:hmm2::/\\k::-j:-j:-j ehehhehe
