Please I need help, got less then a month to find the carrier, and I've read post after post(not that many on it) even watched a video. I do not want to fail the mission. I've gone to Plymouth, south of Ireland, the patrol zone for the carrier. The only time I have seen the carrier was in a dream last night, and what a good dream that was until i woke up.
Please my fellow wolves, I grow hungry for this english chicken coop, and all her chickens! For the Fatherland!!!
i went to that area where you have to search, and just did zigzag patterns all within the zone and just ran into it like 3 or 4 days of getting there and sunk it with no problem. set your speed @ 2 and when u get the blue lines for warship contacts, (dont bother with the single blue contact lines they aint it) when you find the several blue contact lines thats the aircraft carrier convoy, hit your 5 speed and head for it, when you first site it, immediately turn to where you can stay barely out of range, and use your speed to get ahead of it. then once you're ahead, turn toward, go to periscope depth, @ 1 speed, and just wait for it to close to you. (hope this helps). (was goin to add a screenshot but photobucket is down)

Thanks for taking the time to reply to post friend.
I've done as you have said, but all i ever run into is large merchant task forces, destroyers traveling in groups of five.
How big should the zigzags be?
very frustrating finding this carrier!

Thank you for your time sir on the reply.
I do not want to take that aspect out of the game, i havent had a hard time at all find or completeing any of the other missions, Just this darn carrier, I have counted how many destroyer groups I've come across in ten days in the carrier patrol zone. 12, and im still playing. I've tried following planes out to sea. My sound guy is at max level. You would think it wouldnt be this hard to find a huge as aircraft carrier with planes all a buzz around it, while being surrounded by destroyers.
I'm not gonna give up though. Even if i have to keep reloading my save file.
Hey another quick question.
Am I the only to notice when you load a saved game it isnt exactly in the same position you left it in.
the "X" in the screenshot is where i found it the last time, the 1st time before i restarted a couple of days ago it was down near near Brest strait west in the middle. but it does take serching, its there somewhere.

Every 4.5 days the target will leave port and haed for any randon spot in this large red area.
Notice that it will pass through this blue area (every 4.5 days) and this area is within the radius for the kill to count:03:

Again thank you for the time and effort on both of your parts!

to help you out later on, when you have to sink the 5 ships with war marterials, its the ship with the tanks on the them, and their in convoys, so what i did was got ahead of the convoys, went to my external outside cam, and looked @ each individual ship then targeted, fired and sunk the ones with the tanks.

Thanks for the help CSA, but i had already took care of them before trying for the carrier.
Just completed operation Weserübung
For the first campaign I sunk 88 ships for over 500k tonnage, and got one Iron Cross Second Class, and four Iron Cross First class medals.
Now I'm on the second campaign, and am doing the "British Supplies" mission. You have to sink 200,000 tonnage to complete that mission.
