None of this has shocked me as all anyone had to do was look into his background and read his book, every stupid thing he does fits perfectly into who he is.

Quit trashing President Obama***8217;s accomplishments. He has done more than any other President before him. He has an impressive list of accomplishments:

First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico .

First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party.

First President to win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING to earn it.

First President to go on multiple global ***8220;apology tours***8221; and concurrent ***8220;insult our friends***8221; tours.

First President to side with a foreign nation over one of the American 50 states (Mexico vs Arizona).

Yes.

Honestly, guys, this US election cycle has been pretty calm up to about a week ago. We're reaching the high point now with the conventions leading into the General Election. This sort of build-up will continue until around the end of October. By mid-November, things should return to normal, or about as normal as things get. If you are a political junkie, this is as good as it gets. If you're not, just hang in there. It all comes in cycles, and every type of member with every type of interest gets their day in the sun.

Hottentot
09-03-12, 12:11 AM
Cool! :D

By the way, my puppy is better than your puppy. I have it on good authority that your puppy supports the common ownership of toys and peeing on my private property, while my puppy is good and honest Doggycrat who believes your puppy should be voted out of the yard in the coming elections. So everyone vote my puppy in the next elections, or Takeda's puppy will take away all your toys and sell our yard to the evil kitten terrorists!

[Edit: Bah, there you went and edited sense into your post, making my nonsense look even more nonsensical. I'm not playing with you anymore, you kittenist!]

From what I can tell, they all are verified.Obama does have some funny business with his SSN, he has taken a ridiculous number of trips, Michelle has a ridiculous staff and continues to take expensive trips on taxpayer dime.Obama has quoted from the quaran(Cairo speech I know of) and talking about how beautiful the morning call to prayer of ISLAM is.Obama did effectively end the space program for now, violate the war powers act, arbitrarily declare a law(DOMA) unconstitutional and order it not be enforced(President does not have that right) Obama has field lawsuits against states such as AZ, OH , WI etc thus not respecting the rights of the states.Obama's dog trainer(she died recently) but was kept on retainer for "emergencies" was paid 102,000 per year for a part time job at TAXPAYER expense.Obama has surrounded himself by left wing radicals and anarchists among other trash who have no place at such high levels of the united states when their beliefs are the antithesis of our constitution and values, people such as Van Jones(who was only dismissed when exposed),Valerie Jarret, Anita Dunne, Cass Sunstein, Ron Broom, Carol Browner, Elizabeth Warren.Of course, they are in lock step with obama.

But the illuminati link on Bubbles "truth" was funnier than posting a clear link like that:03:

I just put in the first sentence into a search engine, to check the source of the copypasta. The first hit led me to snopes.com, proving the statement wrong -
already in 2009...

So if already the first sentence is proven wrong since 3 years, this tells me not to waste my time "fact"-checking the other links.

If someone claims something, the proof is on them. No sources = just some web babbling...

Actually, seems there may be some ambiguity there, like many details of his life. When so many things are ambiguous about a person, it usually means there is something shady there, somewhere.Kind of like if you meet someone and they can't give you a simple explanation of what they do for a living, it means there is something there. For example, a lawyer will say a lawyer, attorney, etc then can expand on that if asked. There are others who give answers such as those with the "_____ field" , 8 out of 10 times I have found it's something shady.Judging from discussions with others, it's not isolated to me.The man just has too many ambiguities in his background etc. Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Many on the list are absolutely true though.....the dog trainer who makes 102,000 per year for a part time job.The trips, the quoting of quran, his spending over a millions dollars in legal fees to hide his records from being released.Surrounding himself with left wing radicals in his administration, imposing damaging regulations on the coal industry, filing lawsuits, attempting to prevent Boeing from moving it's plant to SC to appease the unions, thus trying to interfere in private business.Refusing to enforce/defend a law while declaring it unconstitutional(DOMA), which he has no authority to do.The list goes on and on, and on and is mostly accurate.

You really are the typical liberal, attempt to take everything out of context and twist it.Of course, you believe you are soo bright:haha: The "From what I can tell" was a way of saying I did not fact check everything on the list but at a glance, it all looks about right and I stand by that. The first one concerning his applying for aid as a foreign student, well there seems to be(like many important details in his life) some ambiguity(people just dont have this much ambiguity, especially presidents) it just is another sign of we know it, but can't give you 100% CSI proof.Same thing as having strong circumstantial evidence in a murder case and some juries just want CSI TV style evidence that just does not work that way.

Add up the trouble with and reluctance to release the birth certificate, his multiple SSN's uncovered by a non political private investigator worked an unrelated matter(who I read actually voted for him) his attempt to hide, college and travel records, etc, it amounts to a shady individual. Is there the "CSI" style proof yet? no but there evidence is certainly mounting. The government has executed many people with less evidence that this.

Want to actually debunk the list? feel free, you may able to debunk a few but most are just confirmed facts. The dog trainer, comments he has made, regulations to hurt a vital american industry(coal) in hard economic times, which will cause electric bills to rise. Not respecting state's rights and suing them(AZ, OH, WI) etc Not respecting the role of congress, bypassing them and creating what amounts to amnesty for many illegal immigrants. The list just goes on and on and on.

Ahhh, you are a storehouse of ignorance.

It's your job to verify everything you claim, or be ready to upon request. If you won't do that, then you are repeating innuendo and rumor and calling it fact, which is very poor research indeed. You make a habit of doing this.

Wierd one that, must be related to the illuminati reptilians and alien inventions or something. I bet there was a snail mail chain letter the first time a President used a telephone too:03:

I'm rather fond of the original, though it's only loosely related to the point here. Not meaning to change the subject, but the imagery is apt.

Last time you said that about him, I thought you were being inappropriate and mentioned it, but you know what? I'm inclined to agree with you.

I'm not against discussing politics of any country. I actually enjoy following such discussion and find many posters here to have lots of things to say from which I can learn something. I'm not even against discussing the politics of any country a lot when they have elections coming soon, even though I must admit that I don't feel a pressing need to suddenly start threads about political issues every time Finns have elections. If you want to state your mind and these issues are close to you then hey, go ahead. I don't even mind being enthusiastic about it.

But lately there have been too many propaganda threads for my liking, this one included. What is the point? Have any Americans here ever said after reading such thing: "Gosh, man, this totally opened my eyes and I'm not going to vote him next time"?

These kind of chain emails and posting them on forums are no different from good old agit train touring the countryside, telling everyone how great the Party is. The same kind of people run both. And I might add that Sinyavsky's quote in my sig is still very relevant.

I understand this, but I'm not American and, to me at least, it doesn't seem fair that I have to sift through a ton of posts talking, or spamming, or trolling about American politics that I have no interest in. GT at least used to have some 'fun' threads or threads that provided good debates or were an insight into something I hadn't known before. Now it's just.. crap tbh.

It was like this 4 years ago. Drove me quite nuts actually, and although it wasn't the thing that really made me leave the forum for over a year at the time (I left because I was a bit overwhelmed with real-life stuff), it certainly didn't help and made me quite angry and reluctant to return :-?

Just don't let yourself get dragged into the debates, because then it'll make you angry. Do your best to focus on other stuff instead and, hey, you can always start more fun topics!

If there was a debate, I don't think there would be nearly as many complaints. A serious thread rarely gets ridiculed. But what debate is there in this thread? What is there in this thread to begin with? What are the rest of us supposed to say? "Oh yeah, I totally agree, he is such a scumback"?

Is is any different than STEED an BossMark running around about 'Tory this' and 'Tory that'? Again, if you don't like it, that is fine. It will all be over in a few months. It isn't out of hand (yet) and if it gets to be too much there are more than enough moderators watching.

As CCIP said, nothing is stopping you from making threads about things that interest you. Try swamping the forum with fun.

In all honestly the only thing I come to subsim for anymore is GG section. I don't get sucked into debates because I rarely if ever read the posts anymore because I know it's mostly garbage now. Just reading half the comments (including Tory this, Tory that, just gets me riled up because to me, it's not what subsim is about or what it used to be.

As for "bear with it for the next month or so": I could just as well leave and be done with it all together, but the community here has me coming back every now and again. Instead of bearing with political tirades and b.s posts just make a "politics" subforum and put the garbage where it belongs. From what I see all the threads having to do with politics these days degenerate into "X party is better then Y! You're dumb if you don't agree and you're a hippy/commy/nazi/zionist/left/right wing bastard for liking them!". It used to be funny seeing how dumb the arguments would devolve into. Now it's just sad.

There are 40 threads on the first page of GT, excluding stickies. 8 of them are political. If you want to leave over that it is your choice, but it seems silly to me.

GT is the grab-bag. Sometimes you grab good stuff. Sometimes you get some stuff that is not-so-good.

at least you get to see what other people think that are from all over the world including the united kingdom and germany (once known as arch enemies of each other).

plus the people on GT don't get paid for their views on life or politics which makes for a more innocent survey of what people think.

Birds of a feather flock together :yep:

I tried to create a bit of debate by slamming the obvious untruths - even though I detest the administration's direction of this President. I honestly expected the OP and a few other dye'd in the wool "anything democrat is evil" types to pop up and challenge my assertation - they didn't - suprisingly.

Certain people just repeat things, or copy & paste from a far out wingnuts website. They do not think about what they are reading, or even question the validity, or underlying motives of said author.

Kneejerk politics. It is why we, and some other countries are in the mess we are in.

Extremism due to economical strife is another reason.

And you are the typical neocon, though you deny it on a regular basis.

It's your job to verify everything you claim, or be ready to upon request. If you won't do that, then you are repeating innuendo and rumor and calling it fact, which is very poor research indeed. You make a habit of doing this.

You certainly seem to. You spout it all the time.

It's your job to back up everything you post. If you're not willing to do that, don't post it.

Now that's funny, Mister Pot.

How am I a neocon? lol that is insulting.

I noted that not everything was verified but in interest of time I posted it, many, if not the majority of things are true.

Like I said, some were not verified, but many are true.

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.

CaptainHaplo

I would hardly call the repetition of incorrect political "facts" on a website as extremism - in defense of liberty or otherwise. When its done without consideration of fact to simply promote an agenda - it is however to be considered annoying at the least.

If your going to give the current administration grief, by all means have at it. They have definitely given the citizenry more than adequate reasons to do so. Yet in doing so, you have to have at least some basis in fact to do so, and realize that when you fail to have that - you come across looking like the facts don't matter.

Given that I don't like the current administration policies, I don't understand why it is necessary to attack them with falsehoods. Using easily debunked political untruths is counterproductive. Not to mention, its what they (the current administration) are doing themselves, so to do the same merely makes you as bad as they are.

There is too much truth available to use against them to ever excuse laziness in the pursuit of firing these idiots in November.
