And I haven't even played Guns of the Patriots yet... That's it, it's final; PS3 in the near future. :yep:

Hold fire on that. It's confirmed multiplatform and while it's not confirmed to be out on PC, the demo was running on a PC which was said to be comparable to PS3 hardware, what that means in CPU terms is beyond me.

That FOX Engine is a thing of beauty and MGS 5 is an instata buy, Kojima could take my money now if he wanted.

I am left wondering how soon this will release. With PS4 rumoured to be out towards the end of 2013, I can't see Kojima releasing right at the end of the current gen, unless they have scaled MGS 5 for both hardware techs.:hmm2:

Still, gonna need one for GotP. Maybe some other titles, prolly Gran Turismo. :hmmm:

There is also the MGS HD collection out there.

You get MGS3, MGS Peace Walker, and MGS2.

MGS3 is the subsistence version, so it comes with Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2. You can get MGS1 for $9.99 off the PSN, so you can pretty much play the whole MGS series(excluding MGS Portable OPS).

As for the console this will be on, from what I read the Fox engine was designed for the current gen console, but Kojima has stated that it is flexible enough to run on next-gen. So it could go either way.

I'm wondering if this game will be co-op/multiplayer like Peace Walker/GOTP

Oh, I hope not.

MGS is a stealth game by it's nature and introducing MP/Co-op into the main storyline will just turn it into a run'n'gun. At the very most, if MP is desired then a standalone component like MGOnline as in GotP would be preferable.

Kojima needs to return to MGS roots. MGS 2 and 4, while great games, did not promote stealth as the main aspect, whereas 1 and 3 did. Snake Eater excelled at it and I would like to see that improved upon, although I can't see it happening tbh, I don't think the market for it is still around.

In terms of Co-op I was referring more to ARMA style, where you and some buddies can be stealthy together(not that the Subsim clowns managed that very much, especially when I was around).

Speaking of the demo, Ground Zeroes itself would seem to be changing the Metal Gear Solid formula a bit. The concept Konami cited for the game, "Game without Game Over", speaks to that, as once being discovered, Snake didn't run and hide; he dealt with the situation in Ground Zeroes' open-world environment (http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/936/the-un-kojima-ing-of-hideo-kojima) by calling for support and eventually getting evac'd from the situation via helicopter.I wonder how this will change the stealth aspect of it. This seems to be closer to MGS:PW than any of the other games, and PW was pretty stealthy(the bit I've played of it anyways).

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima unveiled the first gameplay of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/141/141058.html), which he called a "prologue" to Metal Gear Solid 5.This quote brings up an interesting question. At what point will GZ take place? Before Big Boss went "bad"? Between MG1 and MG2? After MGS4?(The tech seems to be current). There are so many possibilities.
This could also be Solidus Snake, before he has to wear the eye patch on his left eye. It's not like Kojima hasn't pulled a character switch on us before.

As for MGS5:
Speaking to French IG Magazine, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has promised that the next ***8216;proper***8217; game in the series will focus much more heavily on infiltration and espionage.
Confirming that the game will use the new FOX Engine, Kojima goes on to say that he liked the idea of ***8220;social interaction***8221; as depicted in last year***8217;s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but refused to comment on exactly how that would translate into Metal Gear Solid 5.

Edit: I wonder how long we will have to wait for this, and MGS5. While Rising does come out in the next couple months, I'm still waiting for the ZoE HD collection.

Edit2: picture on Kojima's Twitter:

The picture in the background reminds me of Solid Snake from MGS4, but again, it could be Kojima playing with us.

They need to make a collection for the PC at least with MGS2,3,4. I have never played 4 as I do not have a PS3.MGS3 was by far mt favorite game play and story wise I honestly did not think that MGS2 was too bad either and it had a very interesting story some of it really made you think.

I know in one they talked about how kids are trained for war with video games I think it was Raiden and Solid Snake talking in MGS2(cant be MGS4 as I have never played that one) anyway that idea really hit me(though it made me think even then) a few years later when a friend of mine who was a USMC AFV commander he told me how driving through this town in Iraq in 2003 looking down his scope shooting and getting shot at felt just like a game to him and it really bothered him it did not "hit" him until hours later after the fight was over that made me think of the conversation in MGS2 art imitates life I recon.

Metal Gear has a lot to say about humanity I think some people miss just how deep the story and meaning is though.

MGS4 will sadly never be on PC.

Why not MGS4 specifically? And does that mean that there are plans to at some release some of the series on PC?:hmmm: No counting the ones from back in the day.

Anyway I could easily go and buy an old PS2 for cheap and just get MGS2 and MGS3 fro maybe $50.00 total including controllers and mem cards.I am not going to buy a new console(as in $300.00 one) for just one or two games myself so hopefully MG5 will appear on PC.I did hear a rumor that Kojima was considering ending his deal with Sony and their getting the games first
smart move actually they will make a lot more money faster that way.

Solely for the fact that it's a PS3 exclusive.

As for other games coming to PC, the only one I know for sure is MGR:Revengeance. They released the MGS HD collection for the PS3/360 but not the PC, so I doubt they plan on bringing the other games over.
