I bought this game when it first came out but never really got into it. i have now decided to reinstall it and really give it a go.

So could anyone out there recommend me the best mods to improve the realistic gameplay and game visuals and perhaps give me an istall order for
them.

Also with reagards to the mods recommended do they come with idiot proof instructions on how to install them and utilise their features.

Don't be afraid to MOD or use JGSE. I was a total noob but with time, patients, and some dedication you to can sail the great ocean. This game is either a love or hate relationship but in my case im enjoying the hell out of this game :D! Its was difficult at first but learning to MOD this game but it has taught me to MOD other games. Thanks SUBSIM!!!

ive mod'd a couple of games i have, like AOP2 (age of pirates 2) and ETW (empire total war), but never mod'd this game, i need some help on it, cuz i ordered crash dive, to 70 meters to avoid several escorts and i went to 164 meters instead.

Same here, i am downloading all the mods from the 'stable' modlist in the mod guide for beginners, then i will activate them one at a time ( is that a good idea for SH5 guys?) and see what happens. If you want i can 'report' my progress here and maybe you can copy me.

I use to run mods for SH3 and 4 and although its been a while it's just a matter of using common sense and reading alot, the supermods for those games made me ..well.. lazy and i never spend time modding again untill now, i just want to play this game without ctd's and some added enhancements and take it from there..

I just can't let this game go, and i'm waiting for a supermod..

If you donīt be set on the NewUI from TDW, you can also try "Schleichfahrt" by uekel. That runs with the CSP MagUI by Dr.Jones.

Itīs a very fine selektion of actual mods.

Thanks man, but i just installed the game again, patched it and my system can barely run the game processor wise, my old E6600 is moaning and complaining and the videocard is running at maximum cooling efficiency, ie makes a loud noise..so only a few mods for me i guess to make things more stable..we'll see where this goes, i have the same with SH4 (and TMO) it stresses my pc to the max but somehow SH5 runs a little less heavy on my system.

For now i'm testing this game and getting used to the different controls, modding will commence tomorrow..and i really liked the tutorial alot, lots of immersion.

Don't feel bad. The game is VERY graphics intensive. I have my GTX690 setup so that the logo changes in intensity (brightness) according to load placed on it. When SH5 is running the logo is very bright :-? Don't get me wrong the 690 handles it with ease but it just shows how graphics intensive this game is. I play Crysis and the logo is not very bright at all :shifty:

Then i shouldn't complain with my GTS250, mind you the game looks awesome so i don't mind so much, it just pulls me towards thinking about a new PC and SH5 being the only reason for a new one is like, ridiculous..

I'm waiting for Company of Heroes 2 to decide what i will do pc wise, untill then i will have to make do with this 5 year old fossile, it's faithfull and true, crashes a couple of times a year but hey it just keeps going like an old dog:/\\k:
