Its unrealistic and full of bugs.
I liked SH 3 much more, at the end it was quite realistic.

OK.

So what do you want to do about it? If it is un-realistic, make a mod or play with a mod. If not go back to SH3.

I don't understand the posts like the ops posted. If it is your personal opinion - who are you for me to really care; considering that beisdes the statement there is nothing else in that post? :06:

I have to agree. If you're going to say you don't like something, you need to say why. If you're going to say it's unrealistic and the other is more realistic, you need to explain why. There are many people who love it, and they say why. People who say they don't like it should say why also.

For most people a sudden expression of frustration or an uncontrollable rush of disappointment is a self-sufficient reason. Probably this is the "else" that you are looking for in tha post, Targor ;)

ah, that might make sense... Still, if you don't like something: say why.. Just saying "I don't like..." seems pointless for the rest of us.

on another had, we all can learn to just ignore such posts completely... That actually might get the message across a lot stronger.

Silent Hunter 3 has his positive aspects but if your SH5 is properly modded I think you will change your mind.

I guess you miss the SH3 genuine atmosphere and if I want to tell the truth SH3 is much more dreadful than SH5. But this is my opinion.

Why do you think so? :)

I have played SH3 5-6 years ago I remember the officers faces, voices when you got a DC attack. As you descends below to the inevitable death, you heard as your chief said the depths with more anger. It's hard to tell the difference of the experience. Maybe I was much younger. As you age, your expectations grow and you feel nostalgic.

I'm disappointed also, but so far was playing unmoded version so I'm not giving up on SH5 yet. Will wait half a year and then give it a go again as now I haven't got sufficient time for additional game. Besides, SH4 is pretty good and got me preoccupied ATM.

There is one awesome thing about SH5 though that I miss on both SH4 and SH3 even to a greater extent - it's the new epic map "open everywhere, whenever I feel like" feature. Now I can open it anywhere and don't need to go from station to the desk which is major thing, especially if you are pausing the game sometimes.

Sound s like you're playing a vanilla unmodded SH5. And yeah, it's not a particularly fun sim to play. It's broken out of the box even with the 1.2 Patch. Don't just jump in here and say you don't like Sh5 when you don't even tell us what your problem is or how you have SH5 set up. Those of us that are playing it without problems will laugh at you all they way back to your sub's home base.

I'd suggest playing SH5 modded. There are many mods out that fix the bugs and make SH5 a completely different sim.... and it'll be a whole lot more enjoyable.

So install some mods. Take a look at Sober's mod list he's using and try that. Then go from there on how you like it and mod it more if you want.

I agree sh-5 out of the box is a major dissapointment , its full of bugs and uncompleted. However with the right mods it is in some ways better then sh-3 , esspecially in the grafics department. One thing that bothers me the most and there is no mod for and never will me most likely is that lack of a sh-3/4 style crew management. I miss decorating and replacing crew members back in port.

Okay it's a dissapointment by itself, but i'm sure the mods will fix things in time and maybe a real supermod like GWX will come and all our problems are solved and we can play this game properly.

It's just that the GWX team has disbanded and the TWO guy spend the better time of his life on giving us a gem for forever and it's so much appriciated by yours truly..

One thing i've learned is that you should never give up as far as SH games are involved, just look at it as a basic train model set that came out and fell apart at unboxing, in time the modders will fix it, they allways do!

Untill then it's clinging on and hoping, but the day will come and people will praise this game (/dream mode off)

I was of the same opinion when I first played the game

Now with all the new mods & extras the game is truly incredible. Sure there is the occasinaly fluke but it's worth it. The game can be as realistic as you wish it to be and the icing on the cake is it looks amazing!

I havent played SH4 in a long time since i've been running a heavily modded SH5. It's just too good once you get it all dialed in.
