I have had a tough time descending the ladder. I finally stumbled onto what works for me. I go down the ladder and when I stop in the conning tower and am eye level with the rung- I just back up a touch, point towards the lower hatch and continue on

It took me a while to learn as well. I always look at the latter then walk forward then look up and move up. In the case of going down try and look at the latter dead on. Some time the ladders that take you down the gun gets stuck but with the toggle feature you can get there.

i find with most games that use ladders if you look slightly up or down as you approach the ladder so you can still see where you are going then when you reach the ladder you automaticly go up or down the ladder

Games and ladders just don't mix, the best are the ones you just run up to and it will 'lock' you into climbing, this game has the same magnet if you look straight at the ladder, i like it but it could use some refining for instance increase the view angle a bit, if you are in that area of the boat the game should understand that you want to get to the ladder, not stare someone in the face or worse into his hollow avatar..

Then again it should give you the freedom of movement at all times so there is a balance somewhere, should be interesting to see this modded, but knowing this forum someone must have allready done that or is in the proces of doing so.
