Hey all,

Strayed around for a long time only to make it back to the homefront, subsim.com. Playing some SH4 again and i have a load of questions to ask so bear with me...also i would like to apologize for being absent for so long, no excuses i just spend my time in different ways but subs are allways on my mind and i never deleted this site from my browser favourites (so much as for sucking up), anyway here are the questions:

What's with SH5 and will things ever get better? ( played it, and uninstalled it after 2 days of agony)

How stable is SH4 with TMO2.5?

What's with SH online?

Why?

Is any franchise doomed once it gets to 'online browser based' versions of the game?

Is anyone else besides UBI into subsims? (I'm not really totally into it like i used to be, but getting there)

Is SH3 available in widescreen now and do i really need to install a VGA cable?

How is everybody doing and what's the latest poop?

Did the forum grow in member size since 2009?

Thanks all, i see the forum is still in full swing! and since subsim and subsims mix like nothing else on this planet i will be visiting again from time to time:hmm2:

Hey all,
Hey Yourself. :sunny:

You've been gone so long I dont remember you. :O:
(Well, I do recognize the sig)

The stock game is terrible. Did you try it with any of the mods? A lot of folks love it.

Like a rock. Much more so than SH3.

What's with SH online?
Who knows? It hasn't been released yet, even to the beta testers.

Why?
Because.

Don't know. I don't play 'those things' myself.

Is anyone else besides UBI into subsims? (I'm not really totally into it like i used to be, but getting there)
What do you mean "besides UBI"? Are they into subsims anymore? There are no others that I know of that are serious.

Is SH3 available in widescreen now and do i really need to install a VGA cable?
There are a couple of widescreen mods out there, but I don't like them and even with my 28" monitor I don't really have a problem with it.

How is everybody doing and what's the latest poop?
Some of us are better, some of us are worse and more of us are just the same. All poop can be found in General Topics. :D

Did the forum grow in member size since 2009?
Almost double. Close to 80,000 members now. Oh, you meant the forum, not the site itself. Pretty much the same guys posting the same things.

Thanks all, i see the forum is still in full swing! and since subsim and subsims mix like nothing else on this planet i will be visiting again from time to time:hmm2:
One can only hope. :sunny:

i would call sh5 a teenager, its come a long way and mods have made it a great game but its still maturing and still has a long way to go yet

Welcome back, Kloef. Never knew you, I'm pretty new here. I don't know what the state of the game was when you were here, but IMAO, it's now all about the mods. They make the game worth playing. Seems to me that SH4 is a living work. As long as there are modders willing to push the underlying hardcode engine as far as they can, the game will continue to hold interest.

It seems (to me) that Ubi has provided a crappy and bug-ridden, but basically functional game engine that offers tremendous opportunity for modification, so much that even many of the limits of the engine can be worked around, And there is obviously a dedicated group of folks who are willing to expend their time and talent to do just that.
