What's up in Chicago!?!

37 people have been shot since Friday, 9 are dead! 13 people were shot in a 30 minute period, man that sounds like something going on in Syria!! I don't fault the police, how can you stop a drive-by? Or retaliation shootings.
Time to deal harshly with these gangs, but you can never stop them all, if I lived in that area, the only solution that would work for me would be to move away.

Its sad to see innocent people get shot, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It doesn't surprise me that it was on the south side of Chicago. The area has a shady feel to it. Not saying that everyone from South Chicago is shady, just the vibe from the neighbourhood is.

RIP to the victims, hope the Chicago PD can get on top of this gang problem.

It is a turf war. Law enforcement imprisoned the leadership of the south side gangs controlling most of the south side drug trade.

Folks have been fighting for control since spring of last year. Rahm, Il Duce, Emmanuel has been willing to let them fight it out, only bemoaning the collateral damage as innocent bystanders die.

Heaven forbid they actually do some police work and arrest those responsible.

I hate to say it, but it does make a twisted sort of sense. Let them kill each other off, then take out whoever rises to the top before they can entrench.

The only problem with the tactic is its total lack of compassion for the innocent who have to live in the battlezone.
