sh3 commander

I have a question about sh3 commander,
When I open sh3 commander and click on, "click for available actions", and after that on,"review patrol logs", I cant do and see nothing,the only button I can use are "close".
I am on my first patrol from Kiel.
Is there something wrong?

Commander can't do anything until the patrol is over. At that point you can look at the patrol log and rewrite it. You need to take notes on paper until then.

Not to seem like im diving in on a discussion here (although that is exactly what I am doing) but I am just after a simplified explanation of how to get SH3 Commander and what other mods I need...Ive never modded anything before. Do I just download and play?

I apologise in advance for my lack of technical ability!

You have the Steam version, right? Not sure of the nuances there; I use a DRM-free disc I got at Amazon as a new product.

On a new install of SH3, install GWX. It comes packed with JSGME, but it's an older version. Might want to get the latest version. Then install SH3 Commander.
Run JSGME and choose the GWX mods you want. A description of each is included in the GWX manual.
Run SH3 Commander (you'll want to pick some of the options here as well), then choose "Launch SH3" from within Commander.

Is that what you're looking for, Oakum?Before that, for GWX 3 there are some config files that need to be added to the SH3 Commanders folder. I'm sure they are on the GWX Greywolves site, and here at Subsim download section.

its basically me trying to get my head around how all this works and what each mod actually does. Its not my intention to ask repetetive or frustrating questions if its coming across that way.

Ask any question you want. It does make it easier if you tell us if you are playing "stock" or with a super mod.

I assume 'stock' is the game as you buy it? I have done nothing to it (as you can see I have no idea how!)

I have downloaded sh3 commander 3.2 from the download section (saved it to my computer) now I am looking for the gwx I have been told about. The only problem is that there are tons of them in the download section!

Which one do I need?

Look up any post by Jimbuna and use the one from his sig. Any GWX-related mod in Subsim Downloads is an add-on, not the main mod.

You need all the bin files (7 if I remember correctly) and the executable that runs the installer. Put them all in one directory (just make on on your desktop it doesn't matter) and run the installer (GWX.exe). Follow the instructions on the screen and in a couple of minutes you will be good to go

At this point we have a problem. It has been reported that the files from the GWX homepage may be corrupted. It has also been said that they have been replaced and are good to go. I'm not sure which is true, so right now it seems to be use-at-your-own-risk. Jim had one to many problems with FileFront, so he switched to MediaFire. I just checked and you're right - you get directed to their front page, so it's currently no-go for that as well.

We're in the process of trying to upload them here at Subsim Downloads, but it's taking time. Sorry about all this, but we're doing the best we can.

i got all of them last week and installed them without a problem steve, runs fine for me atm(ignoring the small weird things that happen in stock anyway)
