Vets Administration is getting to be a joke!

With its budget getting real tight, they need to spend this much on conferences?:down: Money should be spent on caring for the Vets themselves.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is being investigated by the Office of the Inspector General for allegedly spending millions on two human resources conferences held in Orlando last year.

The question I have is: Where is the spending oversight/review for these government agencies. In the US Government, everyone reports to someone. How come this person/committee is not saying "uh, no. You can't spend 4.5 million dollars on a conference."

When I was a govie, there were no shortages of people telling me what I could not spend and I was not spending anywhere close to this for a conference.
