OK I just got myself a TSH-4M-3 Russian tankers helmet.

It has a five pin plug for the headphones and throat mics.
Does anyone have any info as to which pins got to what part.

Really I'd love to adapt it so I can plug it into my iphone using a 3.5mm jack but I don't want to cut the original cable up but make and adapter connector.

I'll post a picture later but any help is much appreciated

My co-worker was a tank driver in the red army. I'll ask him but I don't know when. I'm on vacation until monday

Ask here:

There are some Fins around (who tank around in T-72s in the real world), also some former Eastgermans. They maybe know.

Approach them from their flank or rear and shoot them before you ask your question, cause if you ask them face to face they may perforate you frontally.

@XabbaRus, that is actually an awesome idea. I wanted to do that with an old pair of headphones and throat mic so I can do the same thing with my phone, B-17 pilot style :shucks:

Cool

Skybird could you do me a favour and ask on my behalf as I don't want to join a forum for one question. I'll post pictures here.

It's a cool hat and I hope to get some more like pilots helmets.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Would love to but need to save up and get a new PC, old one is good enough for IL-2 and not much else.

Besides I have found a site in the UK where I can buy a good condition BMP-1 that runs.

Tell me when they sell CV90s also. :)

So how much does a TSH-4M-3 Russian tankers helmet cost anyway?
They don't seem to have one on Amazon.com lol

I really doubt that your iphone has enough power to operate those devices. You're going to need some kind of amplifier.

Pfffft, not CV90s. Think I'll keep my money then. :O:

Somebody just mentioned you should use a multimeter, Xabba.

Another guy reports to have the same helmet, too, but with NVGs, not with headphones.

I have to find out the impedance of the head phones. but no I think my iphone can't power them. the impedance of the iPhone headphones is 32ohms.

I paid 2600 roubles for mine which is just over £50. That was after I got him down from 3500 roubles, which is pretty good,

I can remove the head phones but maybe I will just leave it as is.
