I bought and dl,ed this game: http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/Products/JLSSG/TheDrift/TheDrift.asp
it is pretty basic but i got caught up in it..i like the zulu wars and the movies about them..(Zulu, Zulu Dawn are great flicks).
i played the historical scenario and i (the Brits) got wiped out..the zulu are AI and do give you a tough time..took 4 1/2 hrs to complete the battle..i got more and more involved as it went on..Glad i spent the money on this..you don,t have a rule book a mile thick and a tough learning curve.
Did you retreat into the courtyard? Don't forget the kitchen boiler if you did! Supplies of tea are vital, don't you know. :yep:
Colour Sergeant Bourne ftw!

Oberon, you,ll appreciate this..I live in the mountains east of Pittsburgh Pa.(in the summer)..I,m surrounded by all the great landmarks and battle sites from the French and Indian war..Love that period of time...Braddocks road is south of me and Forbe,s trail is north of me..Couple of weeks ago there was a demonstration of actual Cherokee indians from North Carolina at Fort Necessity.I took part in their various dances. Also paid respects to General Braddock ,who is buried nearby with a big monument..His original burial site is also marked very near the one today.
This past weekend was a small battle at Fort Ligonier..There is a great big King George flag flying above the fort every day.I live about 15 miles from there..Brits held off the french and indian allies there before Forbes arrived there..Jumonville is also close by..That,s where the French and indian war began..It,s a small glen in the heavily wooded mountains here that hasn,t changed in 250 years..Kinda spooky there...
Next weekend is the battle of Bushy Run re-enactment where Colonel Bouquet defeated Chief Pontiac and virtually ended Pontiac,s war..Lot of Brits died there..Lot of British blood has been spilled in this area..Lot of artifacts are still being found.Next year is Bushy Run,s 250th anniversary..I heard re-enactors from the UK are planning to attend this..
Almost every major road and towns name around western Pa. and Pittsburgh are named from that period of time reflecting their British heritage...
After the battle at Fort Ligonier,,when the Brits drove off the French..the crowd applauded...The French soldiers hollered out "Don,t forget who helped you win your independence 20 yrs later!"
I was going to attach a couple of pics of the British troops at Fort Ligonier but it says i can,t?????
Try uploading them to something like imageshack or photobucket and then copy and paste the link across.
Yes, I hear that some of our re-enactors do US events around particular anniversaries. It's nice to have that kind of link to the past, whilst putting aside old animosities.
