Question SH4 1.5

i have SH4 1.4 on disc
and i have looked on steam for the add-on
and it says This is an expansion for Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific and requires the Steam version of the original game to play.

but is it possible to play without using the steam version of SH4

or can somebody link me to a website for the games add-on
please not download had some nasty things with it

I'm interested in this as well...

I have a box copy of Silent Hunter 4 that I'd like to get the U boat add-on for and Steam doesn't acknowledge that I have the game. I've looked at the Gamersgate digital version, but they specifically say that their one requires the Gamersgate version of the original. The retail version seems to be discontinued (Amazon UK have it for about 35 GBP).

Best option I can see is just to buy the gold version as a digital download from Gamersgate for 14.95 GBP, but maybe someone knows a better way?

I bought the 1.5 add-on from UBI to go with my disk version of SH4 which I bought when the game first came out.

As long as you have the UBI version it should play flawlessly.

I bought the U-boat add on from Amazon using the link at the bottom of the page here at SubSim, that way SubSim gets a little commission out of the transaction.:up:

BTW: It is a digital download and plays fine with my original boxed version of the sim.

I originaly ordered the 1.5 addon from UBI as well, but have long since did myself a great favor and ordered SH4 Gold. This disc is the complete SH4 up to date, 1.5. No worries about reinstall keycode problems, or anything else:yep:

Yes the download file is an exec file. Make sure to burn a copy to a disk somewhere.

Mine reads as:

SilentHunter4UBoatMissions_100_US.exe

Once you have it, and you click on the file, it will open the install window just like when you loaded the game from the disk.

Heck, I still have my SH4 v1.4 patch file! Wow! Forgot about that one!

I can't seem to find the digital download on Amazon UK, which seems a bit odd. But I can get it direct from Ubisoft as suggested, so not a problem. Thanks!
