Its been a few years since ive visited this forum. My old WindowsXP PC crashed so i was forced to stop SH3. Now i see SH5 is out for Windows7. I have a Laptop with Win7 loaded. Will SH5 work and is it worthwhile?

the game doesnt care what operating system you are using but it does require a more up to date computer as far as CPU video card and memmory it has.

look at the specs in the game requirements to see if yours can handle it.

as to the game itself, yes its a good game now because of all the mods for it but you will need the mods, as released the stock game sucks without mods

that should get you started, just drop the jgsme.exe in the sh5 folder. make a new folder called mods. when u download a mod just drop it in the new folder called mod.

open the jgsme.exe and move the mod from the left to the right. once u get a lot of mods some will not work or conlict with other mods so you have to make a choice on what mod to use.

when i make the new folder called mods, do I place that mods folder in the SH5 folder? Next question...what website can I go to to patch the game to where I need it? Just received it in the mail today. Haven't installed it yet.

install the game from the DVD. After it's installed it will 'try' and auto-update the first time you run the game. After it's done exit the game. Go to \data\Support\GameUpdater and run the gu.exe file to ensure it's patched to current version of the game.

ended up starting game play via the Uplay deal. Game play was kinda slow, dark and could not figure how to climb the ladder. When I exited game, my PC completely shut down.
