it's been raining for the last 2 weeks in my current patrol (dec 41).
running sh3 with gwx3.
my watch officer apparently thinks it's not raining when i ask for weather report, but it's been consistently at overcast/raining/poor visibility for over 2 weeks now with the same exact wind speed/direction.
i can still hunt, but i have to get close in order to see flags of the ships i come across. haven't come across a convoy yet, thankfully.
any advice to get the weather to change? i remember this being an issue with the base game when i used to play a few years ago, thought this was resolved in gwx3...

My last patrol ended with a week of bad visibility and I am using GWX and h.sie's and stiebler's mods which say have made the weather system a bit better. I don't know yet if the week was an exception but I don't mind that too much. What I do mind is the wind speed and wind direction being the same for days. It would be nice if I could feed new weather parameters to the game through some mod. I would just take each day's weather from the internet and then suppose the weather was like that in 1939 - 1945.
Anyways I think in the downloads section there is a mod Stop the rain or something. Maybe that mod will help you get rid of 2 week unchanged weather. Or sail into a port. Getting 15 kilometers from a port will change weather.

I got weather change every 8 hrs or so with H.sie's V16B1 and Stiebler3_Addon_for_V16B1 used with NYGM 3.6A. Longest rain period was 2-3 days. I'm working on creating same conditions with Stiebler4_Addon_for_V16B1.

Weather changes every 8 hours. That sounds quite nice. Maybe it's worth trying to use Stiebler's previous version.

This happens if you save whilst it's raining and reload, the WO reports that it's not raining when it is bucketing down!
With regard to GWX curing the problem of persistent bad weather, it has made things a lot better with the weather changing more frequently during summer and less frequently during winter to try and reflect weather patterns. Is the weather your experiencing during winter? It is also worth noting that if yiou save during bad weather or any weather for that matter, when you reload the weather counter is reset to zero making that weather pattern hang around longer.

Don't know if it helps

Oh yes, it was summer time.

Great :D Thanks a lot, I'll try that. Once I had a weather change occurring while I was waiting for a nice big convoy with a cruiser in the middle of it. From ok visibility to very bad visibility and then no hope of finding the cruiser. That was brilliant ! :arrgh!:

That makes commander see red.
Stiebler4_Adon_for... instructions says to delete this file.
One nice thing about this weather fix is intercepting/shadowing a convoy makes sense during bad visibility.
While avoiding book keeping earlier today I managed to escape from three very persistent escorts because weather turned "bad"

i'll try the get close to a port thing and see if that helps.
this has only happened twice in my current career with GWX3. the first time the weather got stuck, it was clear skies, very little wind, and unlimited visibility for over a month, and only changed when i was on my way back to port.
weird how it just gets stuck randomly like that.

i remember shadowing a single merchant while submerged for an hour or so.
before i submerged, weather conditions were good and winds were low enough to use the deck gun.
once i got into position to attack, i blew ballast thinking i'd blast the ship with my deck gun. apparently the winds picked up from the time i submerged, and i also didn't notice the merchant was armed....ouch.:k_confused:
that didn't turn out too well.

Funny or at least interesting things happen if the weather changes suddenly :sunny:
