Fake periscope decoy

I know that there are more than just one decoy in SH4, besides the
"sound-generator metal can", there is some kind of fake scope, but i dont know how to deploy it. is there any special key or i just have to deploy decoys in some special circumstance?

Unfinished feature. Still resides in the game files, but was never finished by the developers. Kinda like the FM sonar.

I found a news article from Australia from 1915 citing decoy periscopes in use. They are described as lengths of pipe attached to a buoy that floats under the water. It's not described how they are deployed, but they are released to drift with the currents while the submarine approaches from another direction.
