Hi folks,

Was playing earlier tonight and as i had something to do i saved and exited my game. When i saved i was just within site of Dover where a couple of large troop ships looked soooo juicy a target. The only asw around were a couple of trawlers way off in the distance. When i came back to try and continue my mission i got a problem. All the gauges were shattering on loadup and the game crashed to desktop. Gutted. Heres a pic of what the problem is.

Has anyone had this problem before? If so what can i do to fix it?

I'm running GWX3.0 with

no medals on crew
open hatch
waterstream+exhaust combi v2.3
rmsaquitania

queenmary
tt ssandorastar
dd visable mines v 1.0
wb mid patrol radio orders
rafael dsk gui locked
dfa flag and pens 2010

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi James. Yes I have had this problem before. I don't think its related to any mods. In my experience, when my sub was damaged and then I saved, exited and then reloaded the gauges would shatter. And every time there after until next patrol. I learned to ignore it.:D

Are you getting the CTD every time you reload?

Oh and welcome to SUBSIM. :salute:

Don't save within range of land or other ships. Can corrupt your save.

Oh, and STHOOTC.

Thanx for the replies. I am slightly damaged (due to an surface encounter with a MTB) but the game just crashes to desktop after about a minute. I have other saves so i will check them and hopefully the troop ships will still be there. And i think you may be right about saving near land and ships. I had that on another save, before i went in on an un-escorted convoy, saved the game and it wouldn't work on re_load. Anyway, thanx for the help, i@ll give another saved game a go and let you know if its working.

U crank is correct...this is the game engines way of rendering damage previously sustained before the game save.
