Need help with transfering from Pearl Harbor to Brisbane/Perth.

They offered me a new Gato, I took it and now i am stuck at Pearl Harbor, Cant transfer base back to Brisbane/Perth. The only available base for transfer is Midway or Mara Island Ca.

I dont like Pearl Harbor/Midway because its so freaking far from all the action.

You will be able to transfer to Brisbane/Perth In mid 43

Always save your game before entering port. It lets you start from that point, and if you don't want to get re-assigned to Pearl, just reload the game, wait for the icon to end the patrol, and when offered a new command, you can decline it. Usually, the next time you get offered a new boat, the Gato will be it, but you will stay in Brisbane. But just to be on the safe side, save before you enter port.

Once I get to Brisbane, I like to stay there. Wish we had Guam as base. So that by '45 we could move up closer like they did to the action. No need to stay in backwater port when the action is 3,000 to 4,000 miles away. Burn up half your fuel just getting there, let alone going home.

One thing that is kinda odd, I finally took a Gato boat, and as usual, I had to load it up with all the gear needed, but the SJ radar wasn't showing as available, even though i had it on my last boat, a Sargo.

So I saved the game there in the captain's office, exited the game, and just for the heck of it, I went to equipment page in the office, and low and behold, there was the SJ radar. :hmmm: I think some ensign in command was up to some tom-foolery or something.

What Hylander said, but you should have a port entry auto save that you can use to go back and decline the new boat...

I can't remember if you port entry auto save will get you to a spot where you can decline the new boat or if you don't mind you could use the previous auto save, but you'll lose your last patrol..

sigh.. already did 1 patrol since getting the gato.. i guess i will have to load a save before that.. what a pity because i got another CMoH at the end of the 4th patrol. :/\\!!

The submarine availability is found in the Flotillas.upc file. The Gato becomes available:
Pearl 3-1-1942
Fremantle 12-1-1942
Brisbane 12-1-1942

If you accept a Gato before December you will be transferred to Pearl to receive it. If you want to stay where you are, refuse the Gato until December or after.

Dont worry about it.. already loaded a save where i am still using sargo.
