Hello,

I posted a "Help" post yesterday about SH5 and i am still having a problem trying to install Mods,

I have put the JSGME into the base folder [although its not Silent Hunter 5] its Ubisoft Game Launcher folder, would this stop the Mods showing up?

I am playing in Offline mode,

I have watched/read the Tutorials on installing Mods and its driving me "Nuts" i do not have a problem installing Mods in SH3 and i am doing it all the same!

Any help please,

Roger.

Install JSGME anywhere, this should create a desktop icon

Go to "Properties" of this desktop shortcut (right mouse button), then select the "Shortcut" tab

Change the "Start In" Field to the location of your SH5 base folder

Hello Flostt,

Thanks for the reply but i still can't any Mods to show up, i have done as you say but no go!

Perhaps i am doing something wrong but i am at Keil ready to start out and just put a Mod in ,one to change the Cooks Clothing just to see if it works!! but Nothing!!

I can add to SH3 no problem but not SH5, i do think SH5 is more realistic but i beginning to think i will go back to SH3 which would a shame.

Cheers,

Roger.

then something is wrong.....

Have you created your "MODS" folder where you install the mods?

Are the mods extracted properly? First subfolder within the mod should be "data"...

Extract form the JSGME Manual:

You have 2 possibilities to install JSGME

1. Central installation
You can install JSGME to a central location and point it to each of your games through creating
shortcuts. To do this:
1. install JSGME to a central location (for example, “C:\Games\Generic Mod Enabler”). Keep the
Create a desktop icon option selected in the installer
2. once installed, DO NOT RUN! Copy and paste the newly created JSGME desktop shortcut as
many times as you have games and change the Start in folder of each shortcut to point to each
game’s base folder. To change the Start in folder, right-click the shortcut, select Properties and
then the Shortcut tab. See Figure 1
3. rename each shortcut to something meaningful, such as “JSGME - GameName1”, “JSGME -
GameName2”, “JSGME - GameName3” and so on. To rename a shortcut, simply right-click the
shortcut and select Rename

2. Separate installation
If you prefer, you can install separate copies of JSGME into each of your games. To do this, simply
install JSGME to the base folder of the game that you would like to mod. The base folder usually
contains the game’s main executable file and usually has a name unique to the game. If in doubt,
consult the game’s online community. If you keep the Create a desktop icon option selected, the
installer will add a uniquely named shortcut to your desktop.

Hello Flostt,

Well i have gone for your second option and installed it to the root folder,

I downloaded some more mods and although it all looked like it worked as it said the mod was activated it did not show up,

I can't understand it as i know its been a long time since i played SH5 on my old PC because i installed mods back then in it, so i don't know, i thought that now i have a new PC it would be ok!!

Never mind i will play it as it is, i may uninstall it all and try again but at the moment after trying quite a few hours today to get it to work i feel like i have lost all my hair!:har:

Thanks again for your help,

Cheers,

Roger.

did you install jsgme in the "Program Files" folder or in the "Program Files (x86)" folder?

the x86 folder is where the actual main Silent Hunter 5 game folder is found, the other is just for launching the game.

place jsgme inside the Silent Hunter 5 folder or it will not install the mods properly

C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\"mod name with folder" and JSGME.ini file with all the Mods listed as text file , you can open it in notepad to see if the Mods' list is there or can add the same mod folder name as text list in the .INI file.
I also have the C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 ..JSGME.exe and .ini files in the main folder

hope it helps :)
cheers!:)
