I just added in the mod "Better and Realistic Flotation v1.3" and encountered some oddness, but I'm not sure what to attribute it to. Here's the story:
I get word that there is a convoy sailing from the North Sea to Scapa Flow. I pick up its tail and see that it is heading for the Pentland Firth, the channel southwest of Scapa Flow. So I race around the island to catch the convoy in the deeper waters of the Atlantic.
The convoy has some very nice large ships that are sailing in two rows, which are spaced 800m apart. There are three escorts, but they are way off on the flanks. I take up position right in the middle of their path, perpendicular to each row, 400m from each.
I'm able to hit several large merchants (KGNs, C3s, etc.) before the escorts close in and I'm forced to dive.
After a very half-hearted depth charge run (this is early 1940, thankfully), the convoy is on its way. I plan to make for the Sea of Hebrides and here is where the weirdness begins.
When I surface, I find one of the C2 Cargo ships I torpedoed is still afloat, as is a smaller merchant. Amazingly, the weather has gone from 11kts wind to zero - perfect deck gun weather. As there is still an escort off in the distance, I opt for a torpedo on the C2. It hits, but doesn't sink. It sinks with a second torpedo, but I don't receive any credit for the kill.
Same with the merchant, which I sank with the deck gun. When I encounter the remnants of the convoy hours later, I sink the escort, a C2, a KGN, and a SCW that was outfitted with a couple of deck guns (Q-ship mod?) and don't receive credit for any of them.
Shortly thereafter, I run into an Elco torpedo boat. I sink that with gunfire and receive credit. Two Armed Trawlers then came at me and I sank both with the deck gun (which was a blast, by the way). I received credit for the Elco and Armed Trawlers. All of the aforementioned ships were flying the British flag.
Has anyone else run into this problem of not receiving credit for some kills, but credit for others?
