Looks to be about stopping illegal arms transfers between states and various less-than-legal entities. Like stopping Iran from funneling guns to various Islamic insurgent groups. You'd think The Right would be doing cartwheels over it. Nope. The call of 'not our guns' is out. Must be an election year or something.

About the only thing the UN is able to take away is all the parking in NYC.
There are about 55 Million gun owners in 'murica. That's equal to nearly 2000 divisions of armed personnel. To paraphrase a famous European leader (and minor internet celebrity) 'How many divisions does the UN have?'

Yeah, but you will have to divide those ~2000 divisions by some number to compensate for our lack of training. We could be a force multiplier in a real emergency... but not by a whole lot. Just enough to act as a meat buffer for the regulars who haven't met the advance.

Horses do not belong on back roads! Ford Mustang, YES!. Horses? NO NO NO!! Make our roads safe! Slaughter all horses! :O:
Canadian maple syrup is an abomination; as stated to me the other night by the Lord while I was trying to sleep. "All maple syrup comes from New England, and it totally @#&!'in rules, lil' dude", that's what he told me. :yep:
The UN should be done away with 'cuz it forces its soldiers to expose themselves with white vehicles and blue helmets. The UN's anti-camouflage policy poses a safety risk to all service members under its command. I cannot abide by this. Proper PPE includes clothing that will help a soldier conceal himself in the terrain. The UN is in direct contradiction with my statement, therefore they are just wrong on all levels. :hmph:
Blue rinse? Uh... I can't complain. That stuff scrubs the toilets clean. We usually call it 'Toilet Duck'. :-?

Awesome point, Steve. :salute:
Yes. In fact, many automobiles these days leave less solid waste behind for our municipal workers to clean up. Future technology will enable us to drive vehicles that will leave behind zero solid waste! That means less time scooping up horse biscuits, and more time for prosperous Americans to drive to the grocery store on clean streets, highways and roads! :yeah:

So, a couple are heading home in their horse drawn cart when the horse manouvers a cartwheel over a rock and there is a bit of a bump, the man calmly says "one". A while later it happens again and the man again calmly says "two". Some more distance passes and it happens a third time, this time the man just pulls out his revolver and shoots the horse. The woman starts nagging his husband for shooting the horse and again the manly just calmly says "one"

I'll take it that you still didn't read the actual document.
No, the aim is to stop illegal arms traffic to terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and Hamas and the Taliban. You know, people that tend to shoot at our troops. There is nothing in there about infringement on the Second Ammendment. In fact, the document seems to go out of it's way to state the protection of national sovereignty as pertaining to private citizens.
Or perhaps you'd just rather drink the Kool-Aid.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that this thread was about the UN taking away all your guns. As we established, Mr. NRA spokesperson out-and-out lied to you. The agenda says exactly the opposite.
If your argument is now about the effectiveness of international arms control, I agree that it would be ineffective. However, this is not what your premise was in making this thread. You now move the goalposts as suits you and then proceed to insult me as though I have changed the direction of the argument. No, that was you.

Okay, so it was about hijacking the Second Ammendment. Except none of it was true. You don't believe what the press has to say, but you believe the now blatently false fearmongering of special interest spokespeople, even after shown the extent of the falsehood. Of course, I never linked to any media website. I linked the actual agenda. You know, the document that Mr. NRA was up in arms about? The thing that he was hoping you'd be too lazy to read? Yup, facts without spin. It may not be as fun as you are used to, but it is the only way to get to the truth.
As to the rest, I assume that you know that Susan Rice, not Hillary Clinton, is the US Amabassador to the United Nations. You could at least know to whom you are directing your vitriol. I don't know why you are bringing the SecState into this. Only you can answer that question. In terms of answering the question you made in this thread, I did. In fact, I did it several times. The answer was no. No such items exist in the agenda. I didn't use any political website; rather, I showed you the actual agenda. What I said is that the NRA is trying to work you up into a lather during an election year, and they are. They lied to you. You do seem more willing to believe their lies because it affirms your world view, and that makes me sad.
No, I didn't make fun of you. I countered your points. A few months ago, you were upset that members were not taking you seriously and addressing what you said seriously. I came to this thread and did exactly that. I took you seriously and addressed you seriously. That seems to be making you angry, and I am sorry to see that. I am sorry that you are now resorting to ad hominems to salvage your point. If I am wrong in what I have asserted about your question regarding the UN, then please illustrate where the error lies. Produce information that is contrary to this. Otherwise, I see little reason for continued discourse here.
It's folks like who wrote this article that do more damage to our 2nd Amendment rights than the most vitriolic of anti gun propaganda.
It's difficult to argue for something like RKBA with a bunch of loonies making such over the top, easily proven false statements like that.

Gun Owners Beware: U.N. To Have Small Arms Treaty Finalized In July
July 6, 2012
By Rretta (http://www.franklincountyvapatriots.com/author/rretta/)
http://www.franklincountyvapatriots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/1c5.jpg (http://www.franklincountyvapatriots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/1c5.jpg)Over 100 members of Congress appear to believe, as most Americans do, that the U.N. Small Arms Treaty (http://www.franklincountyvapatriots.com/2012/06/01/obama-and-the-u-n-gunning-for-our-second-amendment-rights/)that Hillary Clinton and Obama are adamant they will sign, will usurp America***8217;s 2nd Amendment.
In a letter to both Hillary and Obama, they write ***8220;to express our concerns. . .the U.N.***8217;s actions to date indicate that the treaty is likely to impose significant threats to our national security, foreign policy and economic interests, as well as our Constitutional rights. The U.S. must establish a firm red line. . .and state unequivocally that it will oppose. . .if it infringes on our rights or threatens our ability to defend our interests. . .***8221; The letter also reminds Obama and Hillary that ***8220;the Constitution gives the power to regulate international commerce to Congress alone.***8221; Right, telling Obama that he must pay heed to the Constitution is the equivalent of telling your dog not to sniff another dog***8217;s butt. You can read the letter and check to see if your representative signed it at this link. (http://kelly.house.gov/sites/kelly.house.gov/files/ATT%20Letter.pdf)
Virginia***8217;s representatives Robert Wittman of the 1st district; Scott Rigell of the 2nd district; Randy Forbes of the 4th district, Robert Hurt of the 5th district; and Morgan Griffith of the 9th district, are standing up for our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
The treaty has not as yet been finalized but considering the disdain that the U.N. and its member states hold for the United States, there is no way a reasonable person could believe that it will be written in our favor.
Supporters in our own government who believe that the treaty is necessary to prevent rogue countries from being able to purchase arms such as Senator Carl Levin, D-MI, said that concerns about the treaty restricting individual rights are ***8220;misplaced***8221; and he supported its goals. You can read Senator Levin***8217;s response to one of his constituents concerning his support of the treaty here. (http://www.reveresride.net/2011/07/21/senator-carl-levin-supports-a-u-n-devised-global-gun-ban-in-his-own-words/)
Expect the U.N. and Obama [and Hillary] to have this treaty ready for ratification this year. If we do not send a stern message to Congress and Obama during this November***8217;s election, this treaty could very well become law of the land.
Guess what I got more questions, I know you are way busy blowing bubbles in the punch bowl. why did a 100 members of congress write a letter of something to Hiliary and O bama.??? Did you read the letter? It says, in effect, 'you'd better not sign away our gun rights'. It's posturing. Nothing new there.
As you can see Hiliary's name comes up in this copied post several time so why are you protecting her ?
You found me out. Mrs. Clinton decied that she needed protection and came to SubSim's senior moderator to see it done. But you sniffed me out, you ol' bloodhound, you.
