How dumb can I be?

A loaded question, for sure, but here's my dilema...

During the SHIV quick missions and war patrols, I adjust the realism settings to my liking so that I have to manage batteries and fuel, monitor CO2, etc...

During the career campaign, the bloody game sets all of these things to unlimited, and no matter how many times I adjust the realism settings, they always default to unlimited. This has turned an exciting game into a bloody arcade-style shoot 'em up. Not what I expected, and it sucks all the challenge out of it.

I figure it has to be something I'm doing, but I'm buggered if I can figure it out.

So, how do I get the career campaign to accept my realism settings?

Go to the radio on the shelf before you go out on patrol. Adjust your setings and you should be fine.

Understandable. I forget every time I start a new campaign game. And have to restart the 1st patrol every time.

He's not so bad when he's on his meds...SS, isn't really dumb, I think the word is senile or something that rhythms with it. Even I don't make fun of old senile men on viagra...Course he doesn't use it for sex, just as a prop to get out of bed.

And to prove it it, last night I fired tow fish at an old freighter, forgot to reset the depth, they passed straight under it.

I was forced to restart the campaign, but only because I got blown up. Tokyo Bay really is incredibly well defended... :yep:

Those harbor infiltrations are tough. I don't even mess with them. Also, you don't have to try to complete them. The renown is miniscule for completing them, so just go sink stuff, and go home.

The harbor missions are not very realistic, since the only way to really get into them, would be to follow an enemy ship through the minefield(s), since the Japanese liked making big ones. Then try staying hidden with patrol vessels, harbor vessels, dock workers, planes, and everything else they have.

Then, you have to get back out again.
